Millen man arrested for paying his child’s 14-year-old half-sister to send him nude videos

AUGUSTA, Ga. – On August 2, 2022, a Richmond County Sheriff’s officer responded to a residence and spoke with a mother regarding the sexual exploitation of her child. She told him the 36-year-old suspect had enticed her 14-year-old daughter to record sexual videos on her tablet and send them to him.

She explained that the suspect, Marcus Vernon Brown, was the biological father of her five-year-old child, and the four of them had lived together previously. She said she discovered three videos sent to Brown by her juvenile daughter via Facebook Messenger on June 11, 2022.

The officer viewed the footage, which displayed the 14-year-old wearing lingerie that revealed her exposed vagina. He also found a message from her requesting more money from Brown for more lingerie.

The juvenile explained that Brown had initiated the relationship about two years prior when they lived in the same house. She admitted to sending him videos through several different media platforms over the past “couple of years that include her either in lingerie or fully naked.”

She said Brown had been paying her money via Cash App in exchange for the sexual content. Her mother handed the officer the tablet to be submitted as evidence.

Brown was not present during the investigation and unavailable for a statement. Officers arrested him on April 12, 2023, and charged him with the sexual exploitation of children. This case is currently pending in court.

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 2255 hours, I Deputy Benjamin White (Unit 5213) responded to a call at the residence of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Jordan St in reference to Sexual Exploitation of a Child. Upon arrival, I met with [WITNESS #1] (Complainant), who advised that her daughter (Listed Female Juvenile) was enticed by Marcus Brown Sr (Suspect) to send three sexual videos to him on her tablet (1 Black Tablet; NOD).

[WITNESS #1] stated that she and Marcus have another child together who is five years old. [WITNESS #1] stated that Marcus used to live with her and the listed juvenile at another previous residence off of Neptune Dr. [WITNESS #1] stated that on 08022022 at an unknown time, she found three sexual videos on the juvenile’s tablet that were sent to Marcus via Facebook Messenger on 06112022 at approximately 1822 hours.

[WITNESS #1] gave me permission to look through the tablet. On the juvenile’s Facebook Messenger, I observed three videos of the juvenile wearing lingerie that showed the juvenile’s vag*nal area openly exposed. I observed that the three video messages were sent to a Marcus. I also observed a message from the juvenile to Marcus, where the juvenile asked for Marcus to send her more money to buy more laungerie.

[WITNESS #1] advised me that I could speak with the juvenile, while she was present. The juvenile stated that Marcus initiated the relationship a couple of years ago between them when they all lived together off of Neptune Dr. The juvenile stated that she has been sending videos on multiple social media platforms to Marcus for a couple of years that include her either in lingerie or fully naked.

The juvenile stated that Marcus has been sending her money via Cash App in exchange for her to continue sending the videos. Marcus was not on scene or available for a statement. [WITNESS #1] stated that I could take the listed tablet as evidence. The listed tablet was transferred into the evidence locker under property receipt #497158.

I contacted Cpl Espinosa (C51), who contact Sgt Johnson (B47) in CID. Sgt Johnson (B47) advised that CID would not be responding to the scene and would follow up at a later date and time. [WITNESS #1] was given a case number and advised on the procedure to obtain the report.
