SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. – Police in Griffin say two people, including a local apartment manager and the mother of one of the victims, have been arrested in connection with a sex trafficking case involving two 15-year-old girls.

Investigators identified Herbert Shaw, 49, the property manager of the Quiet Hills Apartment Complex, as the primary suspect. Shaw was taken into custody and charged with sex trafficking, grooming, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Police also arrested 37-year-old Erica Miller, the mother of one of the teens. Investigators said Miller was complicit in the crimes and now faces related charges.

The investigation began in early August and led detectives to identify Shaw as the main suspect. Authorities said the charges stem from his involvement with both minors, but they did not release additional details about how the teenagers were targeted.

Police believe there may be additional witnesses and victims who have not yet come forward. They are encouraging anyone with information to contact Investigator S. Amos at samos@cityofgriffin.com or 770-229-6450, extension 526.
