MERIWETHER COUNTY, Ga. – A Greenville man who intentionally drove away with an officer’s pen after signing a ticket during a traffic stop in December 2023 ended up getting Tased and his leg broken following the incident. The officer’s body camera footage revealed 30-year-old Corriyon Bray defiantly holding the pen out his window as he drove off after the officer demanded it back.

In the video, the officer yells, “That motherf*cker! He stole my (expletive) pen!” The officer and a Meriwether County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at Bray’s residence and ordered him to return the pen, but he told them he did not possess it.

The body camera footage reveals the officer warning Bray, “Give it to me, or I’m going to tase you.” Then, the officer tased him, and the deputy began to arrest him.

Bray suffered a broken leg in two places during the struggle. He faces charges of theft by taking and obstruction.

Greenville Police Chief Wayne Frazier explained that his officer did nothing wrong in the situation. He reviewed the footage and agreed with their actions.

Frazier said, “If he had complied, none of this would have happened. Our SOP says verbal, hands-on, less lethal, and lethal, and he followed protocol.”

Bray said his attorney will file a lawsuit. He stated, “I think it was about trying to show authority. I think that’s what it was about.”

He did not comment on why he intentionally stole the officer’s pen and waved it at him tauntingly as he drove away.

This case is pending in court.
