BANKS COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a 34-year-old Lula man on December 20, 2024, for sending multiple sexually explicit photographs to a female juvenile. Kenneth Butcher faces a charge of furnishing obscene material to a minor between the ages of 14 and 18.
According to police documents, the victim’s parents reported to deputies that Butcher repeatedly sent photographs of his penis to their daughter via Facebook messenger, even after blocking him and telling him to leave her alone. The suspect allegedly created a new account and continued to message her, including one that said, “his wife and he would really enjoy her.”
The victim’s mother explained that she knew Butcher from when they both worked at Dollar General, but he was now employed as a janitor at her daughter’s charter school. She said her daughter could not attend school for fear of seeing him.
This case is pending in court.

On February 2nd, 2023, Deputy Shelnut was conducting a walk through at the Golden Pantry when C2’s boss told Deputy Shelnut that C1 was enroute to the Golden Pantry to file a report C2 advised Deputy Shelnut that C1 had all the information for the report, but she was coming from Nicholson so it would be a while. Deputy Shelnut stated he would return to take the report from C1 when she arrived. Deputy Shelnut returned shortly after, but C1 was still not on scene
C2 then informed Deputy Shelnut that C1 was his wife, so he could call her if need be. Deputy Shelnut then spoke to C1 via C2’s cell phone. C1 advised that V1 had been receiving pictures on Facebook messenger from O1. O1 has been sending V1 pictures of his pe*is (at least 3 different occasions according to C1 O1 also messaged V1 that his wife and he would really enjoy her. C1 stated that she knew O1 from when they worked together at the Dollar General C1 was now employed as a janitor with MTN Ed Charter School. V1 also attended MTN Ed Charter School at the Banks county high school.
C1 was First made aware that O1 was sending V1 pictures of his pe*is when they were at the school Christmas party the previous December. V1 saw O1 in the hallway and told C1 that she needed to go home. V1 then told C1 about what O1 has been sending her. V1 blocked O1 on Facebook and told him to leave her alone, but he made another account and messaged her again. V1 and C1 have screenshots of the messages and pictures that O1 has been sending. Deputy Shelnut informed C1 to keep V1 from messaging O1 at all but to save any future messages he may send. C1 then arrived on scene at Golden Pantry. Deputy Shelnut gathered C1 and V1’s information for the report. C1 stated that V1 has been unable to return to MTN Ed School in fear of seeing O1.
