Seven arrested after chasing man to Roswell apartment, shooting him in face, police say

The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Roswell Police Department on March 13, 2024:

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – The Roswell Police Department has arrested three adults and four juveniles in connection with a targeted shooting that left two people injured.

Shortly after 4:00 am on Monday, March 11, Roswell E-911 was notified by staff at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital that two adult males had arrived to the emergency room with apparent gunshot wounds. One victim was struck in the face, the other in the leg. Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

When officers arrived to the hospital, they learned that the victims had been shot at the Roswell Creek Apartments at 1000 Holcomb Bridge Rd., and began to gather suspect information. Subsequent investigation determined that the victims and suspects were known to each other, and had been involved in an ongoing dispute over the days prior. The morning of the shooting, the suspects pursued the victim’s vehicle into the parking lot of the apartment complex where they opened fire.

Leveraging the technology resources of the Roswell Crime Center, investigators were able to quickly identify and locate two involved suspect vehicles, and take a total of seven involved suspects into custody before day’s end without incident. Several firearms were recovered and seized as well.

All seven suspects have been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. The four juvenile suspects (one 15-year-old and three 16-year-olds) were booked into the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. The three adult suspects were booked into the Fulton County Jail and are identified below:

Fabian Villamar, age 20, of Roswell.

Isaac Frias, age 19, of Woodstock.

Jimmy Chavez, age 17, of Roswell.

This remains an active investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Roswell Police Department at 770-640-4100. Anonymous information can be provided through Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477) or online at www.StopCrimeATL.org.
