The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Acworth Police Department on March 31, 2025.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. – On March 31, 2025 at approximately 10:26am, Acworth Police Officers responded to North Cobb Christian School, located at 4500 Eagle Drive, Acworth, Georgia, after receiving information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of a SnapChat photo sent with a school shooting threat. Information was relayed to North Cobb Christian School as officers responded, resulting in a school lockdown.
Officers and Detectives quickly arrived on the scene and worked with Cobb County Police and North Cobb Christian School’s School Resource Officers. A student was quickly identified and taken into custody at 10:53am.
The suspect was transported to the Acworth Police Department for further investigation. After an interview, Ella Sever of Acworth (17 YOA) was arrested. Sever has been charged with:
• Terroristic Threats (Felony) O.C.G.A. 16-11-37
Sever is currently in custody at the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office without a bond. The Acworth Police Department would like to make it known that all threats and comments made on social media are taken seriously. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the consequences of posting threats or making inappropriate comments.
