Follow Tybee Island Police arrest woman for animal cruelty

TYBEE ISLAND – Tybee police arrested a lady on animal cruelty charges after she allegedly dumped an injured dog into the ocean.
Candy Marban faces a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals after she threw the puppy into the ocean on September 12, according to the Tybee Island Police Department.
She claimed she couldn’t afford to take it to a veterinarian at the time.
The dog was taken to a Savannah animal hospital, where its injuries were determined to be too severe, and the dog had to be put down.
