CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. – Athens-Clarke County officers arrested a University of Georgia junior running back on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at approximately 4:30 AM during a traffic stop. According to jail records, Trevor Curtis Etienne faces misdemeanor charges of DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, affixing materials that reduce the visibility of windows/windshields, and improper driving on the road.

His “less safe” driving under the influence charge allows him to receive a conviction for a blood alcohol content of less than .08 grams. Etienne posted bond and was released from jail just one hour after his arrival.

Born in Jennings, Louisana, he played at the University of Florida for two seasons, appearing in 24 games, including one start. He also joined the 2022 SEC All-Freshmen Team. His brother is a current Jacksonville Jaguars running back.

Executive Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications Steven Drummond expressed in a statement, “We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information. This is a pending legal matter, and we will not have further comment at this time.”

This case is pending.

Over the past few years, there have been several incidents at the University of Georgia involving driving under the influence.
