COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. – A woman reported that a suspect used her Xfinity account to order two new iPhones and a smartwatch, had them delivered to her home, and stole them from her doorstep. She told the Columbia County Sheriff’s deputy that, on her front porch camera, she viewed a Black man arrive in a silver passenger car, retrieve the package, and drive away.

She said she contacted Xfinity and was able to cancel the order for one of the phones; however, the smartwatch and second phone had already shipped. Xfinity initiated a fraud investigation and refunded her money.

She explained that the incident began on March 11, 2024, when she received an email concerning an Xfinity order. Two days later, she noticed the purchases listed on her account statement.

Then, she received a notification regarding a FedEx delivery at her house at 4:28 PM; however, when she returned home, there was no package. She said the video recorded the silver car arriving at her house at 4:43 PM and a man in a purple and black shirt stealing the parcel.

She told the deputy she wishes to prosecute if the suspect is identified and apprehended. This is an active investigation.
