WALKER COUNTY, Ga. – According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies responded to a call at a Rossville home on Thursday, November 14, 2024, and discovered a deceased two-week-old infant.
The victim’s mother, 37-year-old Ana Alissa Guice, tested positive for drugs and reportedly fell asleep with the baby improperly placed in a bed with her.
Authorities determined Guice acted negligently and was responsible for her child’s death. They transported her to the Walker County Detention Facility, where she remains without bond.
Guice faces charges of second-degree child cruelty and second-degree murder. This case is pending.
