Warning: The following report describes violence against animals.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. – A woman is in jail after being denied bond regarding what investigators described as a horrific animal cruelty case that has remained open for nearly a year. Witnesses discovered Timorra Rogo‘s deceased English Bulldog in the Paces Mill area, and authorities have now determined that Rogo intentionally drowned the canine.

Officials explained that the necropsy report was delayed due to the excessive number of animal cruelty cases in the county.

They said she arrived at the Chattahoochee River with evil intentions. She allegedly had her dog in a cage, weighed the cage down with rocks, and tossed it in the water.

According to reports, Cobb County Animal Service Director Steve Hammond examined the rocks used in the drowning and said, “These were the rocks that were used to weigh down the cage in the river. We weighed these; it’s about eight pounds worth of rocks.”

Hammond stated, “Anybody that would do something like that is straight evil. This is torture to drown a dog.”

He said his animal cruelty investigator “used good, old-fashioned police work to crack the case, pounding the pavement.”

Hammond explained that once the dog was found, they located a microchip in the Bulldog, which led them to Rogo. He urges pet owners to take advantage of available resources like microchip technology to help ensure their animals’ safety.

This case is currently pending in court.
