Update: After further investigation, Atlanta Police Homicide Detectives found probable cause to secure arrest warrants for Dontavious Wright (DOB 8/1985) for the charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Wright was placed into custody and transported to the Fulton County Jail without further incident.
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Preliminary Investigation: On 4/4/24, around 12:27am, officers were flagged down by a male driver at the location of 21 Cleveland Ave SW. The male had indicated that his girlfriend sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound as they were driving.
Officers observed a female victim inside the vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Grady EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the female deceased.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene and transported the male to APD Public Safety Headquarters to be interviewed. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
