Woman shot, killed inside Newnan gun shop, man charged with murder

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that a 28-year-old woman, Olivia Faith Robinson, was shot and killed inside a Newnan gun store on the night of Friday, September 20, 2024.

Authorities later arrested a 38-year-old man, William Brannon Owens, and transported him to the Coweta County Jail, where he is detained without bond on charges of aggravated assault and murder.

The GBI has not revealed a motive or if the victim and the suspect were acquainted; however, the agency reported that the Newnan Police Department received a call regarding an unknown problem at the East Court Square Oz Tactical shop at approximately 9:25 PM.

While en route, they learned that the call was upgraded to a shots fired report inside the store. Responding officers discovered Robinson’s body when they arrived.

According to reports, Owens declined his initial court appearance on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
