DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was stabbed while eating lunch at a restaurant in DeKalb County after a stranger walked up and attacked her without warning, according to police.
Investigators said Walter Scrutchings, 22, is now in custody and faces an aggravated assault charge.
Officers responded around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday to the First Watch located in the 2500 block of Blackmon Drive, the DeKalb County Police Department said.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a stab wound. Authorities said the victim then went to a neighboring business to call for help.
The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Scrutchings was taken into custody and booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
