Cherokee County (December 21, 2022)- Woodstock police responded to a home on Bentley Parkway just after 7:30 AM after a mother called to report that her daughter had stabbed her 17-year-old son in the chest during an argument, and there was “a lot of blood.”

When officers arrived, they found the victim lying at the top of a staircase wearing only pajama bottoms with his sister, Taeja Williams, applying pressure to his wounds using bath towels.

Officers began attending to the teenage victim by applying pressure and asking him questions about where he went to school and if he played sports to keep him alert while they escorted Williams downstairs.

Officers noticed a three to four-inch knife blade near the victim’s feet that was missing the knife’s handle. The victim had a significant wound to his upper chest and another on his arm that were both bleeding heavily.

The victim told officers he and his sister fought often and that they had gotten into an argument that morning when he hit her, and she then stabbed him. The victim was soon unable to speak to officers, who said he began panicking about his injuries.

EMS soon arrived, taking over medical treatment and transported the victim to Kennestone Hospital. Officers preserved the knife blade as evidence and noted blood splatter on the wall outside of the bathroom.

Kennestone Hospital staff stabilized the victim and treated Williams for a cut to her left hand.

Once discharged, Williams was arrested and transported to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, where she faces cruelty to child- 1st degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime against a person, aggravated assault (Family Violence Act), aggravated batter (Family Violence Act), and battery charges.

On the above date at 0734 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Bentley Pkwy in reference to a person who had been stabbed. I was advised that the caller was the mother and that she was reporting that her daughter had stabbed her son and that there was a lot of blood.

Upon arrival, I made my way inside the residence where I was informed that both the male and female were upstairs. Officers Chapman, Mitton and I went upstairs where we located the young male laying on the floor just at the stop of the stairs wearing pajama bottoms and no shirt. The female (daughter) was applying pressure to the wounds with bath towels.

Officers Chapman and Mitton escorted the female downstairs while I continued to apply pressure to the male’s chest wound and checked for other wounds. I asked the male what his name was to which he advised it was [VICTIM #1], (DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) and that he was 17 years old. To [VICTIM #1]’s left and near his feet I noticed a knife blade, no handle, with blood on it laying on the floor. The blade was approximately 3-4 inches in length.

I pulled the towel off the chest wound where I noticed a significant chest wound on [VICTIM #1]’s upper left chest. I continued to apply pressure to the wound and noticed another wound to [VICTIM #1]’s upper left arm that was bleeding heavily. I asked [VICTIM #1] various questions such as where he went to school and if he played sports to keep him conscious and focused.

I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened to which he advised that him and his sister, Taeja Williams (DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]), get into arguments often and that this morning they got into another argument, and he hit her before she turned around and stabbed him. [VICTIM #1] was unable to provide any more detail to me at that moment as to what happened as he began panicking about his injuries.

Woodstock and Cherokee Fire/EMS arrived on scene at this time and took over medical treatment. While they worked on [VICTIM #1], I stood over the knife blade to preserve that evidence. There was also blood on the wall just outside the bathroom that is on the right side as get to the top of that stairs.

Once [VICTIM #1] was loaded up in the ambulance (Squad 24), I followed the ambulance to Kennestone Hospital and sat outside the trauma room 103 while [VICTIM #1] was being treated. I requested [VICTIM #1]’s clothes be turned over to me from staff at Kennestone Hospital. A nurse provided me with these clothes once they were done stabilizing him. Detective Allen then arrived on scene to continue the investigation and I turned the clothes over to her while still in the emergency room.

Officers Chapman and Mitton brought Taeja to Kennestone Hospital to treat a laceration to her left hand that she had sustained during the incident. I sat with Taeja at Kennestone while she was seen by medical staff, Once Taeja was cleared and discharged from Kennestone, I secured her in a pair of properly fitted, double locked handcuffs with her hands behind her back.

Taeja was also searched incident to arrest before being seatbelted into the back seat of my patrol vehicle which had been checked for contraband prior to the start of shift. I then transported her to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center where she was turned over to Detention Deputies and booked into the ADC.
