[NARRATIVE #1 on May 21, 2026]

On May 21, 2026 (Thursday) I, PFC Young, was dispatched to [60 BLOCK] Lyons Dr Apt [REDACTED], Rome, GA 30165 in reference to a female having been stabbed in the leg.

I responded with lights and sirens. Upon arrival, I went to the apartment and made contact with the victim, [VICTIM #1], who had a small but visible puncture wound on her left thigh. She had some dried blood on her leg and more on her shorts.

EMS was responding so I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened. She stated that she was hanging out at her friend, Adam Cochran’s, apartment of [20 BLOCK] Tamassee Ln Apt [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] stated that they had been drinking and at some point, Adam allegedly got angry with her when she mentioned she was “having company.” [VICTIM #1] stated that Adam suddenly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed her in the leg. She stated she left and went back to her apartment to call 911. While Officer Chorjel remained with [VICTIM #1] awaiting EMS, I went to Adam’s apartment with PFC Boyd to attempt to make contact and see if anyone else was injured.

Upon arrival, I checked the door handle and found that the apartment was unlocked. I opened the door and it was dark. Not knowing if anyone inside was injured, I decided to complete a safety check of the residence. I started in the door and observed a black male laying on the couch parallel to the door. I could not tell if he was injured or asleep.

PFC Boyd and I made entry with our duty pistols drawn. I observed a stag handled pocket knife sitting on the coffee table near the male. I moved the knife away from the male and attempted to wake him verbally. He did not respond. After several attempts, he finally woke up but remained on the couch. Another male was located in the bedroom in bed. He was ordered out verbally and complied. Once both males were in the living room, they were identified as Adam Cochran (asleep on the couch) and [WITNESS #1].

I asked Adam what happened with [VICTIM #1] and he seemed confused. Adam stated nothing happened and that she had come over earlier. I asked why she had a stab wound on her leg and Adam claimed he knew nothing about it. [WITNESS #1] stated he only recently came over and went to bed so he did not see anything. I picked up the pocket knife and opened the blade. It was approximately 2 to 2.5 inches in length. I looked at the blades with my flashlight and observed some trace red liquid that appeared to be blood on the longer blade. I closed the knife and sat it back down.

I radioed Officer Chorjel and had him ask [VICTIM #1] what the knife looked like. She advised it was a tan handle with darker marks on it. The knife had a stag style handle which is a dark white/tan base with darker accents. At this time, I told Adam to stand up. I secured him in handcuffs and advised he was under arrest. I double locked the cuffs and checked them for fit.

Adam was intoxicated and kept asking what he was being charged with. I told him several times. He also kept asking to smoke, use the bathroom, and call [VICTIM #1] to “clear things up.” I told him several times [VICTIM #1] was the one who called saying her stabbed her. Adam remained irate.

I escorted Adam to my patrol vehicle where I searched him incident to arrest and secured him in the back seat. I packaged the pocket knife for evidence. I then transported Adam to the Floyd County Jail where he was booked without incident.

I submitted the pocket knife into evidence at the Rome Police Department.

[NARRATIVE #2 on May 21, 2026]

On May 21st, 2026 I, PFC Boyd, responded to [60 BLOCK] Lyons Drive in reference to a female with a knife wound.

Upon my arrival, PFC Young stated that the suspect lived at [20 BLOCK] Tamassee Lane Apt [REDACTED]. I then along with PFC Young went to that address. PFC Young told me that the door was unsecured and he pushed it open. PFC Young told me that he could see the suspect on the couch asleep. We then made entry with our department issued firearms in hand. I immediately noticed a knife in plane view on the coffee table. I then continued a sweep of the apartment and located a subject in the back bedroom. I woke him up and told him to come to the living room and sit on the couch. Once we ensured that there was no threat, I put my firearm away.

The second subject that was in the bedroom was identified as, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that he was asleep and did not know anything about what happened. I then helped PFC Young escort his arrestee to his vehicle.

[NARRATIVE #3 on May 21, 2026]

On May 21, 2026 at approximately 0209 hours, I (Officer Chorjel) was dispatched to [60 BLOCK] Lyons Dr Apt [REDACTED] in reference to [VICTIM #1] being stabbed in the leg.

I responded with lights and sirens and upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1] who had a small puncture/ laceration on her left thigh. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and her friend, later identified as Adam Cochran had been drinking throughout the day at Cochran’s residence ([20 BLOCK] Tamassee Ln NW Apt [REDACTED]).

[VICTIM #1] stated that she and Cochran had not been arguing but that Cochran all of a sudden became very angry when [VICTIM #1] wanted to go home. [VICTIM #1] states that as she got up to leave Cochran’s apartment, he grabbed her by her legs, threw her on the ground, and stabbed her thigh with a small folding knife. [VICTIM #1] stated that Cochran held the knife with the point of the blade facing downward before slamming his closed fist containing the knife into her thigh.

PFC Young then attempted to make contact with Cochran at his residence while I waited with [VICTIM #1] for EMS to arrive. EMS advised [VICTIM #1] that she did not need stitches and that she should keep the wound clean and covered.

[VICTIM #1] states that the knife was a folding knife that was either “white or tan with dark markings” on it.

[VICTIM #1] goes on to state that although she had been going to Cochran’s residence “all throughout the day, things got rough” around 1:00am. [VICTIM #1] states that she arrived at Cochran’s residence around 9:45pm (May 20, 2026) and had been stabbed at around 1:00 am (May 21, 2026). [VICTIM #1] then states that she walked home and immediately called Cochran at 1:08am, 1:11am. and again at 1:15am. [VICTIM #1] then sent Cochran a text message at 1:29am containing a picture of her wound so she could demand an apology. She then contacted 911 at 2:00 am for an ambulance.

I then informed [VICTIM #1] of her victim rights and left a brochure to further explain her victims bill of rights. [VICTIM #1] stated that she would like to be informed of Cochran’s release and court dates. I informed her that I would fill out a victim notification form on her behalf. I then took the victim notification form to Floyd County Jail as well as uploaded pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s wound to evidence.com.
