[NARRATIVE #1 on November 14, 2024]
On 11-14-24 at approximately 1652 I, Officer Tanner was dispatched to the area of Broad St in reference to a suspicious person.
Myself and Officer Roden were able to find the suspect later identified as a Mr. Anthony Denson on the 2nd Ave bridge near Broad st. We made contact with him and Officer Roden asked him a few question in regards to him screaming and causing a scene to which he informed us he had the right of freedom of speech. Due to Officer Roden dealing with Mr. Denson earlier today and multiple calls from witnesses in the area Mr. Denson was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Mr. Denson was put in handcuffs and placed in the back of my patrol car where he was then transported to Floyd County Jail.

[NARRATIVE #2 on November 14, 2024]
On November 14, 2024 I PFC Roden was dispatched to the area of Broad St. close to 4th Avenue. The complainant, [WITNESS #1], stated that a white male in a black shirt and jeans was screaming “Fu*k the judge” and screaming and cussing at other citizens.
I was familiar with Mr. Denson from earlier in the day when he stood on the ledge of the top of the 3rd Avenue parking deck and was screaming and acting in a strange manner.
Myself and other officers made contact with Mr. Denson on the 2nd Avenue Bridge. He was flailing his arms around and yelling over the bridge in a manner that was not normal. When I asked him about screaming “fu*k the judge” and things of that nature, he stated “cause I can, I got the right to.” I took this as an admission and advised Officer Tanner to place Mr. Denson under arrest for disorderly conduct. A person shall be guilty of disorderly conduct if, with the purpose of causing public danger, alarm, disorder, or nuisance, or if his conduct is likely to cause public danger, alarm, disorder, or nuisance. Mr. Denson screaming at people and screaming profanities in a public area caused alarm and disorder to the public.
Officer Tanner transported and booked Mr. Denson at the Floyd County Jail.
