On May 8TH, 2025, at approximately 1:33PM, I, P.O. T.Zenga #61, was dispatched to 1818 Dean Avenue for a suspected overdose.
Upon arrival, I met with the suspect who was found laying down behind the Hi-Tech gas station at that address. I identified the individual as Donisha Collier. I woke Donisha up and asked if she was okay. She appeared to be unaware of where she was at and could barely sit up on her own. Danisha’s lips appeared to be very purple and discolored. She struggled to hold her eyes open while speaking to me, nor could she hold up her head. Danisha’s speech was slurred and she was speaking in incomplete sentences that I could not really comprehend. I had dispatch send EMS just to check to make sure she was okay due to the state she was in at this time. Donisha spoke to EMS and stated that she was fine and they left the scene. I then asked Donisha if she had maybe taken anything and she said no. I then went to my patrol vehicle and ran her name into GCIC/NCIC and found she had a warrant through Dalton PD. I then verified with dispatch and I was notified that they will not extradite.
When I came back PFC Boyd #36 stated that Donisha told him that she may have taken Methamphetamines prior to our encounter. Due to her stating that and me noticing a straw that was possibly used to ingest the drug, I told Donisha to stand up and explained due to what she has stated and seeing the straw, that she is going to be searched. Donisha was searched, but nothing was found.
After monitoring Donisha further due to her state, I made the decision to place Donisha under arrest for city ordinance 14-2 disorderly conduct. Donisha was placed in handcuffs which were checked for fit, double-locked, then placed in the back seat of the patrol vehicle. Donisha was taken to Floyd County Jail where she was booked.
Donisha was charged with city ordinance 14-2 disorderly conduct.
