On January 7, 2026, I, Officer Bell, was dispatched to [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Rooney Rd in reference to a domestic dispute.
While I was en route, PFC Oney and PFC Taylor arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect, later identified as Ifrain Gonzales. While officers were out with Mr. Gonzales, he became combative and began physically fighting with PFC Taylor. The responding units advised dispatch that they were involved in a physical altercation with Mr. Gonzales.
Upon my arrival, I observed PFC Oney and PFC Taylor actively attempting to restrain Mr. Gonzales on the ground. Mr. Gonzales was actively resisting and attempting to break free from PFC Oney, PFC Taylor, and myself. Control was gained on Mr. Gonzales, PFC Taylor restrained his legs, while PFC Oney restrained his right arm and I restrained his left arm.
Shortly after, multiple County Officers arrived on scene and assisted in gaining control of Mr. Gonzales and placing him in handcuffs. Mr. Gonzales continued to actively resist and was placed in the back of my patrol vehicle. Due to his continued resistance, Mr. Gonzales was later moved to PFC Taylor’s patrol vehicle for safer transport.
While being placed into the back of PFC Taylor’s patrol vehicle, Mr. Gonzales again became combative and attempted to kick Sergeant Metroka. Mr. Gonzales was successfully secured in the back of PFC Taylor’s patrol vehicle and transported to the Floyd County Jail.
I made contact with the complainant, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that he is the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of Mr. Gonzales and had allowed Mr. Gonzales to stay in his home due to their family relationship. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that when Mr. Gonzales drinks alcohol, he becomes aggressive and combative, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] fears for the safety of his family.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that nothing physical occurred inside the residence, but he was concerned that something could happen. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Mr. Gonzales was not violent toward anyone inside the home and went into the front yard when he began becoming hostile.
While at the Floyd County Jail, Mr. Gonzales fought with PFC Oney, PFC Taylor, and jail staff while being escorted into the booking area. Due to his behavior, Mr. Gonzales was not medically cleared by jail staff and was transported to Atrium Hospital for further evaluation. While at the hospital, Mr. Gonzales remained combative with hospital staff and Sheriff’s Officers who were assisting.
Mr. Gonzales was placed on an involuntary hold (10-13) by hospital staff and held for observation.
