[NARRATIVE #1 on December 02, 2025]

On December 2, 2025, at approximately 1414 hours, Officer Chaves and I, Officer Ansari, were en route to 810 E 2nd Ave, Rome, GA 30161 (YMCA) in reference to a vehicle possibly following and stalking the complainant, [VICTIM #1].

While still on my way, dispatch let us know that the complainant and the suspect, later identified as Jordan Buttrum, had been involved in past altercations. The complainant also told us that he usually carries a gun with him and was throwing gang signs at them, making them fear for their life. I arrived at the YMCA parking lot and made contact with Jordan. Before my arrival, dispatch had let us know that Jordan was calling to complain about the complainant following him as well.

I asked Jordan what was going on and explained to him that the complainants were saying something involving a gun. Jordan told me that he had no weapon on him or in the car, and he was actually being followed by the parents of his children’s mother. While I was talking to Jordan, I smelled the odor of marijuana coming from him, so I asked him if he had any on him or in his vehicle. He told Officer Chaves that he didn’t have any, and the smell might be from him previously smoking, which might be a lingering effect on the sweatshirt he had on.

Officer Chaves went to talk to the complainants, who were parked in the church’s parking lot across the street, while I stayed with Jordan. Upon Officer Chaves’ return we advised Jordan that we will be performing a probable cause search on his vehicle due to the odor of marijuana. A search was conducted of the vehicle, and a pouch of marijuana was recovered from the center console of the vehicle at approximately 1443 hours. I also found four additional vapes with THC oil at the same place. A digital scale was found in the vehicle’s glove box. A gun vault was discovered in the backseat floorboard of the vehicle.

I brought the gun vault to Jordan and asked him to open it. He told me that the gun vault belonged to him, but he didn’t know the code. He later said the contents of the gun vault belonged to him and his friend, and changed it again to say the gun vault was his, but the contents were his friend’s. Jordan told us that the key to the gun vault was in the car, in the driver’s side door, which was recovered, and then the vault was opened by FCPD Investigator Moore. He discovered several gun parts inside the vault, which had been disassembled and lacked a serial number. An extended magazine with 20x 9mm rounds was also found, along with a smoking apparatus with residue left in it.

Jordan was advised of being placed under arrest and handcuffed in the back by Officer Chaves, who checked for a proper fit and double-locked. An in-person search of Jordan was conducted, and we found $84.00 on him, which was seized for safekeeping. Investigator Moore Mirandaized him at the scene to ask some questions related to a different incident. Investigator Moore seized Jordan’s phone at the scene and took it with him. He advised that he would be taking out search warrants related to it.

The gun parts and magazine with 9mm rounds were seized with the suspicion of it being involved in a shooting incident that Investigator Moore was working on. It will be placed in the temporary evidence room of the Rome Police Department along with the marijuana, vapes, digital scale, and the money. The vape with THC oil will be sent to the GBI for drug analysis and the money recovered from Jordan will be marked as to be kept for safekeeping.

Jordan was transported and booked at the Floyd County Jail for the offenses of 4 counts – O.C.G.A. 16-13-30(a) Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance, O.C.G.A. 16-13-30(b) Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances, O.C.G.A. 16-13-30 (j) Possession of Marijuana, and O.C.G.A. 16-13-32.2 Possession of Drug Related Objects.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 02, 2025]

On Tuesday 12/2/2025 I, Ofc Chaves was on duty in my marked patrol vehicle when dispatch gave out a BOLO in reference to a possible road rage/altercation. Dispatch advised the complainant, [VICTIM #1] stated her and her boyfriend [VICTIM #2] were being followed by a Jordan Buttrum. Dispatch gave out location information and advised the complainant stated Jordan Buttrum is being investigated involving a murder case. Dispatch advised the complainant pulled into the Methodist church on 2nd Avenue while the other subject (Jordan) pulled into the lot of the YMCA (810 E 2nd Ave). Prior to my arrival dispatch advised Jordan was also calling 911 stating he was being followed by the original complainant.

Ofc Ansari was already on scene at the YMCA speaking with Jordan Buttrum outside their vehicles. Upon my arrival I could immediately smell the distinct odor of marijuana. While Ofc Ansari was speaking with Jordan he asked Jordan why does his vehicle smell like marijuana and if he had any marijuana inside the vehicle. Jordan stated initially he did not have any marijuana and also stated he had smoked marijuana before and was wearing the same sweater. While Ofc Ansari continued speaking with Jordan dispatch advised that county investigator Moore was en route to our location to speak with all parties due to a separate on going investigation. I then relocated myself to the Methodist church to meet with [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2].

[VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] stated they were being followed by Jordan and were scared of him due to a previous fight they encountered with him (2506592RPD) where he had a firearm (see previous report for further). Upon speaking with [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] they had mentioned they spoke to Floyd county investigator Moore and that he was arriving on scene.

I then asked dispatch if myself and Ofc Ansari were standing by the parties until County arrived to investigate believing it was apart of a case they were working on separately. Dispatch advised to stand by with the parties until county arrived.

Upon investigator’s Moore arrival he stated he was investigating Mr. Buttrum in a shooting that occurred in the county. I advised investigator Moore the case is his and we were advised to stand-by the complainant and Mr. Buttrum. I also advised that Mr. Buttrum’s vehicle was emitting the distinct odor of marijuana and a probable cause search was going to be performed on the vehicle.

I then relocated back to Ofc. Ansari where Mr. Buttrum was advised a probable cause search of his vehicle would be done and if there was anything inside the vehicle. Mr. Buttrum now stated that he had some “pens” and marijuana inside the vehicle. “Pens” are a known slang term used to describe vaporizer electronics that contain THC concentrated oil used for smoking marijuana. I then asked Mr. Buttrum if he had anything on his person that I should be aware of and asked him if I could perform a search in which he agreed to.

Myself and Ofc Ansari then began a search of the vehicle where a clear ziplock bag of marijuana was discovered, a scale, 4 THC oil vapes, drug related object and a gun safe box.

Mr. Buttrum was read miranda warning by investigator Moore, investigator Moore then asked Mr. Buttrum how to open the safe box and Mr. Buttrum stated that he did not know the code however stated there was a key. Mr. Buttrum also stated the safe box was his and the condoms inside the box were his but he was unaware of anything else inside it and stated he shared the safe box with a friend known as “[REDACTED].” (See investigator Moores’ narrative for further).

At this time Mr. Buttrum was advised he was going to be placed under arrest by Ofc Ansari, I then secured Mr. Buttrums’ hands behind his back and placed him in handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked handcuffs. Mr. Buttrum was searched incident to arrest and placed in the back seat of Ofc. Ansari’s patrol vehicle.

I then asked Mr. Buttrum what wrecker he preferred and he stated Sunrise. I advised dispatch to get Sunrise en route owners request. I then stood by the vehicle while Sunrise removed the vehicle and Ofc. Ansari transported Mr. Buttrum to the Floyd county jail where he was booked accordingly.
