On the above date and time I, Pfc Webb was dispatched to [80 BLOCK] Dodd Blvd in reference to a possible domestic involving a baseball bat.
Upon arrival I made contact with [VICTIM #1] and immediately began noticing that she was extremely nervous. [VICTIM #1] was fidgeting with her hands and would look at me or Pfc George while we were talking. We stated to her we were there to help and she began explaining what had occurred.
While she continued to talk to Pfc George I went to speak with [VICTIM #2] upstairs in the apartment. I went to speak with [VICTIM #2] and observed a scratch to his face and some swelling as well. [VICTIM #2] began explaining that he had heard [VICTIM #1] and Larry arguing and then it went silent thats when he came down the stairs and observed Larry with one hand around his mothers throat and the other on her mouth. [VICTIM #2] stated he went and got between them and began fighting with Larry and during the altercation Larry swung a bat and hit [VICTIM #2] in the face. [VICTIM #2] raised his hands to try to block the hit to the face and sustained a minor injury to his hands. [VICTIM #2] then went on to explain at some point he picked Larry up and slammed him to the ground and thats when the fighting ceased. [VICTIM #2] had taken the bat up to his room nd its described to be a pink T-Ball bat which was collected for evidence purposes.
After speaking with [VICTIM #2] I went to speak with Larry. Larry stated that him and [VICTIM #1] had began arguing because he was packing his stuff to leave the following morning and that [VICTIM #1] kept messing with his belongings and thats when the argument ensued.
When I arrived on scene intially I observed Larry sweeping up the living room area and upon talking to him I noticed a large cut on his finger. When he was questioned about the cut he stated that a piece of glass cut him and thats what he was sweeping up. When Larry was questioned about the physical part of the incident all he said was [VICTIM #2] picked him up and slammed him and continued to avoid answering why [VICTIM #2] did it.
I met with Pfc George and he stated that [VICTIM #1] was very scared and wouldn’t explain much of what occurred. I was then advised of that a family member [REDACTED] had been contact during the incident and that [VICTIM #2] stated he was hit by Larry with a bat and that the issue was handled and they were cleaning up the mess. So at this point with all the information provided and the evidence observed on scene I placed Larry under arrest for the listed charges.
Larry was searched and placed in my patrol vehicle an transported to Floyd County Jail where he was booked without incident.
Backseat cleared before and after transport
Handcuffs double locked and checked for fit
