On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 at approximately 17:01 hours, myself and other officers responded to [200 BLOCK] Northwood Drive in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon our arrival I made contact with the original complainant, Rebecca Gonzalez, who I observed to be visibly upset and was walking up the street away from the residence.
The front of Rebecca’s shirt was soaking wet and smelled like alcohol. Rebecca informed me that she got into a physical altercation with her boyfriend, Christopher Garrett. She advised that her and Christopher was at the residence having a family gathering. Rebecca informed me that her and Christopher got into a verbal argument over the food that they were eating.
She advised that Christopher had an opened alcoholic beverage in his hand and intentionally threw the drink at Rebecca. She advised shortly after Christopher threw the drink at her, he walked up to her and smacked her across the left side of her face. While speaking with Rebecca, I observed that her whole face was red due to her crying. At the time of our conversation, I did not see any bruising or marks on Rebecca’s face.
Responding officers met with Christopher to get his side of the story. According to Christopher, both parties were in a verbal argument and began throwing drinks and food at each other. Christopher informed officers that at no time did he ever put his hands on Rebecca. After speaking with Rebecca, I walked over to the residence to speak with Christopher.
I observed the front of Christopher’s shirt also soaking wet from what appeared to be pickle juice. Christopher informed me that the altercation was mutual and stated that he never hit Rebecca. Christopher stated that he was going to stay at the residence for the evening and allow Rebecca to go home by herself.
Originally due to the lack of physical evidence and witnesses, I advised both parties to separate for the evening and advised both of them of TPO procedures if necessary. Rebecca informed me that she wanted her personal belongings out Christopher’s vehicle and that she would walk home.
Christopher complied with her request and left her belongings on the curb in front of the residence. I advised Rebecca to either find a find a ride home or to collect her belongings and to walk home. Rebecca informed me that she would collect her belongings and call an Uber to come pick her up.
I escorted Rebecca to the front of the residence where her belongings were located and advised her not to make contact with Christopher or any of the family members standing outside. Without provocation, Rebecca began yelling obscenities at Christopher and his family members in an order to incite a response from them. I notified Rebecca to collect her items and to leave the property. I further advised her that if she continued to yell and cuss at Christopher and his family in order to incite a fight, that she would be placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
After calling herself an Uber, Rebecca immediately began whispering things under her breathe in front of Christopher’s family while grabbing her belongings. I once again ordered Rebecca to collect her belongings and leave the property. Rebecca threw her items to the ground, faced towards me and stated, “You know what if you got a f*cking problem, take me to jail already!” I ordered Rebecca to place her hands behind her back and immediately placed her under arrest (handcuffed behind the back, checked cuffs for fit, and double-locked.)
Rebecca was searched and was placed in the back of my patrol car. Once in the back of my patrol car, Rebecca notified me that “she was just going to hang herself” once she got to the jail. I notified dispatch of the suicidal threats made by Rebecca and requested that deputies meet me in the sally port once we arrived to the jail.
Rebecca was transported to the Floyd County Jail without incident and was booked for disorderly conduct. The back off my patrol car was searched before and after transport.
