On the above date and time, I CPL Doan received a dispatched call in reference to a male needing legal advice.
Upon placing my call, I was able to speak with Shane Crider who stated that on the night of 9/13/25-9/14/25 his girlfriend [WITNESS #1] and he had a sleep over together where [WITNESS #1] had brought her daughter with her. Crider stated that “she was having a hard time falling asleep so he laid down with her” and after he had fallen asleep and woken up a short time later, he had returned to his bed. He stated that after he had woken up, he observed that [WITNESS #1] and her daughter were gone and that caused him to “panic” so he messaged [WITNESS #1] and asked where they had gone. It was at this point in time that I asked Crider for [JUVENILE #1]’s name to which he did not know it for quite some time after I had asked the question.
According to Crider, [WITNESS #1] advised him that [JUVENILE #1] had told her about him supposedly touching her. I then asked Crider where she had alleged that she had been touched to which he responded “I guess the nether regions” after I had given him a few options. Crider stated that [WITNESS #1] had told him that “she didn’t believe that he would do that” but he wanted to get ahead of the curve and report the incident himself.
A short time after answering this call and generating a report of the incident, I was looking through the Dispatch CAD and observed the call located on Albert Ave. I then read through the call and realized this was the other party calling in about the incident and took the initiative to take over the call. Upon placing my call, I was able to speak with [WITNESS #1] (guardian of [JUVENILE #1]). [WITNESS #1] stated that she had received a text from who she believed to be [JUVENILE #1] stating ” hey, I need to tell you something but you have to promise to still let me see my mom”. [WITNESS #1] agreed and she then received a text stating that “moms boyfriend had touched me, can I still see my mom”. [WITNESS #1] then agreed and told her to delete the messages in an attempt not to spook [WITNESS #1] in order for her to be able to pick her up, take her to the hospital and keep her safe.
She then received a message from the same number and assumed it was from [WITNESS #1] by the way the nomenclature had changed. The text now read ” we left and are staying at a friends where it is safe.” [WITNESS #1] then asked for the friends name and address to which [WITNESS #1] was unable to provide due to “not knowing it” and began dancing around the question repeatedly.
After continued conversation and threats of Law Enforcement intervention, she stated that they were at [5900 BLOCK] Haywood Valley Road (Chatooga County). [WITNESS #1] then started toward the residence in order to pick up [JUVENILE #1] and have her evaluated at the hospital. She stated that due to the child now being in a difference county, they had called Chatooga County for an escort to the residence and upon PD arrival up there she hung up and began speaking with them. She advised that she would be taking [JUVENILE #1] to the hospital and would notify us after having done so for further follow ups.
[End of Narrative]
