Officer’s Narrative:

On Monday, November 24th, 2025 at approximately 11:59 hours, I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon my arrival, I made contact with Simone Jackson, who was standing in the driveway of the residence. While speaking with Simone, she advised that she got into a physical altercation with her mother and her children.

Simone informed me that earlier her mother, [VICTIM #1], decided to take Simone’s children out to a family event. Simone advised that she informed [VICTIM #1] that she did not have permission to take the children without Simone’s approval. Simone made statements that even though [VICTIM #1] is the children’s grandmother, she advised that [VICTIM #1] has attempted to “kidnap” the children in the past. Simone informed me that she’s been sober for one year now, however advised that she did drink alcohol earlier today. She informed me that a verbal dispute broke out between her and [VICTIM #1].

While arguing, Simone stated that her children and [VICTIM #1] “jumped her” in front of the residence. Simone stated that her oldest daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY], told Simone that she hated her as a parent and immediately attacked her. Simone informed me that her two other children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], punched Simone in the face while [VICTIM #1] held Simone down to the ground. Simone made further statements that she believed [VICTIM #1] brain-washed her children in order to steal them away from her. While speaking with Simone, I observed that she was covered in dirt and leaves and had numerous abrasions on her legs. Simone advised that during the physical altercation, [VICTIM #1] bit Simone’s thigh with her teeth. While on scene, I requested EMS to come check Simone’s injuries.

After speaking with Simone, I immediately made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] informed me that she was attempting to take the children to a family event. [VICTIM #1] advised that she normally takes the children to events without having to ask Simone. She informed me that today in particular, she noticed that Simone had been drinking in excess and was yelling at her children. [VICTIM #1] informed me that while attempting to get the children inside of the car, Simone came outside and began screaming that she did not have permission to take the children. [VICTIM #1] advised that Simone immediately got into the face of her daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and was screaming obscenities at her. [VICTIM #1] advised that she attempted to step in to get Simone away from [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

She informed me that while trying to separate Simone away from [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Simone grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the throat and pulled her to the ground. [VICTIM #1] advised that Simone positioned herself where she was able to wrap her whole arm around [VICTIM #1]’s throat and began squeezing. She advised that Simone began strangling her, causing the restriction the air flow to [VICTIM #1]’s brain. [VICTIM #1] made a statement that she feared for her life because she believed Simone was attempting to seriously injure or kill her in that moment.

[VICTIM #1] informed me that while on the ground, Simone’s children got out of the car and jumped onto Simone. She believed that the children got involved because they also believed that their mother was attempting to kill [VICTIM #1]. While on the ground, [VICTIM #1] advised that she bit Simone in self-defense in order to get away from her. [VICTIM #1] advised that she was not seriously injured in the altercation and refused EMS treatment. [VICTIM #1] informed me that the altercation was captured on her residence surveillance footage. In the video captured, I observed Simone holding down [VICTIM #1] with her hands around [VICTIM #1]’s throat.

I briefly spoke with Simone’s daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who advised that her mother attacked [VICTIM #1] and that she had to step in to break up the fight. Simone’s sons, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], both advised that their mother attacked [VICTIM #1] and that they were scared during the incident. None of the children received any injuries in the incident and also refused EMS.

EMS checked for her injuries and she refused medical treatment. Due to the testimonial and video evidence collected at the scene, I placed Simone under arrest (handcuffed behind the back, checked cuffs for fit, and doublelocked.) Simone was searched and was placed in the back of my patrol car.

A copy of the victim’s bill of rights was provided to [VICTIM #1] and was explained in detail.

Simone was transported to the Floyd County Jail where she was charged for Aggravated Assault FVA, Disorderly Conduct, and Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree FVA (x3). back of my patrol car was searched before and after transport. An Axon link was later sent to [VICTIM #1] in order to retrieve the footage of the incident.
