On the date and time above I (PFC Sontay) responded to a fight call on [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Berryrun Dr. Dispatch advised one of the subject received a cut on his throat.
Upon arrival I walked inside the residence and saw a male identified as Tyrease Rashun Creamer (Victim, Offender). I saw Tyrease had a laceration on his neck and had blood stain running down his upper body. I asked Tyrease if he wanted to be seen by EMS but he advised he didn’t. I advised Tyrease EMS would come check him out since the laceration was on his throat.
Tyrease advised both him and the complainant, Tameka Ann Rodgers (Victim, Offender) were arguing and both had been drinking. Tyrease advised Tameka cut him. Tameka was also in the kitchen and was saying things to Tyrease while I spoke with him. I advised Tyrease to speak to me outside while Tameka stayed inside.
I asked Tyrease what happened and he advised he went to his sisters house earlier that day. Tyrease advised him and Tameka were arguing on the way back to their residence and continued once they arrived back. Tyrease advised the argument started because he thought Tameka was cheating on him. Tyrease advised he raised his voice at Tameka but never touched her.
Tyrease advised Tameka told him “if you want me to take it there, ill take it there” and he told her he would call the police. Tyrease advised one of Tameka’s daughters came in and asked Tameka what was wrong. Tyrease advised the daughter said she would call the police. Tyrease advised Tameka attacked him in front of her daughter. Tyrease advised Tameka was his girlfriend. Tyrease advised Tameka’s daughter saw everything but she would not agree.
Tyrease advised he shoved Tameka off of him and she ran into the kitchen and grabbed the knife and came back into the room they were in. Tyrease advised he was still in the room and told her he would call law enforcement but wasn’t going to call because he didn’t want Tameka to go to jail. Tyrease advised Tameka swung and he advised he “felt” it as he motioned his hand over his laceration. Tyrease advised he didn’t even think his laceration was bad because he was intoxicated. Tyrease advised he went to the living room and Tameka’s daughter told him she already called the police.
Tyrease advised he walked past the bathroom and saw how bad his laceration was and told Tameka she was going to jail. Tyrease advised he was suspicious of Tameka because he thought she was talking to his cousin. I asked Tyrease if he hit Tameka and he replied no. I asked Tyrease if Tameka hit him in the head because I saw bump and he advised it was from an incident that happened in 2017. Tyrease had a small red mark on the side of his face but he advised it may have happened when he fell.
Tyrease advised he loved Tameka and did not want her to go to jail. I asked Tyrease if they both had history of him and Tameka fighting and he advised no. PFC Pelanek whom was also at the scene advised he had been at the residence before. Tyrease advised they both don’t fight and it was always just an argument with each other.
Tyrease advised in the past he had charges dropped from an incident that happened between the two because it turned out him and Tameka did not fight each other. I asked Tyrease what Tameka used to cut him and he didn’t answer and said he didn’t want Tameka to go to jail. Tyrease advised he didn’t know were the knife was at and didn’t know what type of knife was used but all he knew was that it was a big knife.
EMS arrived to check Tyrease’s cut. Tyrease repeated to say that he didn’t want Tameka to go to jail and advised they weren’t fighting. PFC Pelanek stayed with EMS while they checked Tyrease’s wound while I talked to Tameka inside the house.
I asked Tameka what happened and she advised they just came from Tyrease’s sisters house and he was an alcoholic. Tameka advised Tyrease was drinking at his sisters house and when they got back home he started arguing about his cousin. Tameka advised Tyrease thought she was with his cousin and she was just trying to go to sleep because she had work the day after.
Tameka advised Tyrease put his hands around her neck. I asked Tameka if she knew how Tyrease got the cut on his neck and she told me she didn’t know. Tameka advised Tyrease grabbed her by the neck and started choking her. Upon looking at Tameka’s neck I did not see any visible marks but she advised she pushed Tyrease off of her. I asked Tameka if any of her kids saw what happened and she advised no.
Tameka advised her children came in the room when they heard both of them screaming at each other but didn’t actually see what happened. Tameka advised Tyrease “always did it all the time”. Tameka advised after they were arguing she asked one of her kids to call the police because Tyrease wanted to “come at” her and “fight”. Tameka advised Tyrease was “swinging” at her and they were both “tussling”.
Tameka advised Tyrease did not get a chance to hit her after he choked her because she started to defend herself. Tameka advised Tyrease attacked her first because he can’t hold his liquor and it wasn’t the first time this had happened. Tameka advised Tyrease threw her phone against the wall and cracked it. Tameka’s phone had a small crack on it but the wall had small marks that made it difficult to determine if any marks were left from the phone.
Tameka advised she was also drinking but she stopped drinking after a while. I asked Tameka if she cut Tyrease and she advised no. I asked Tameka if she was lying to me and she advised no. Tameka advised she was going to defend herself but she wouldn’t cut Tyrease. Tameka knew Tyrease really wanted her to go to jail but she really wanted him out of her house.
Tameka advised they had both been together over a year in the same house but she paid all the bills because he didn’t work. I advised Tameka if she didn’t want Tyrease in the house she would need to get an eviction and she advised she already knew she had to do that. Tameka advised she kept prolonging the eviction because Tyrease had told her he would change even though he didn’t.
Tameka advised Tyrease always tried to hurt himself, went to treatment centers and talked about killing himself. Tameka advised she was in fear of her life when she was being choked and felt she had to protect herself. Tameka advised Tyrease always says he doesn’t put his hands on her but he did.
I asked Tameka if I could speak to her daughters and she advised yes. I spoke to [WITNESS #1] (Tameka’s daughter). [WITNESS #1] advised earlier around 7-9 they were all in the living room and she saw Tyrease “antagonize” Tameka putting his hands on her and throwing water at Tameka’s face while she was washing dishes. [WITNESS #1] advised Tyrease always acted like that when he drank liquor.
[WITNESS #1] advised she was confused because they knew Tyrease always acted like that when he drank and they still went to go buy alcohol knowing it was a “trigger” for him and that’s how he acts. [WITNESS #1] advised she didn’t know why they were “indulging into the problem”. [WITNESS #1] advised Tameka and Tyrease both drank half of an Espolon Tequila bottle but Tyrease took more shots than Tameka did. [WITNESS #1] advised she doesn’t know how many cases of beer Tyrease went through but he had been acting like that since both of them started drinking.
[WITNESS #1] advised before Tyrease had drank he was doing fine and they were cleaning out the garage and everything was normal. [WITNESS #1] advised Tyrease had just got back from a treatment for drinking because it was a part of his last case. [WITNESS #1] advised Tyrease went to the treatment for about 2 weeks, came back and “immediately” started drinking again.
[WITNESS #1] advised she really didn’t know what happened but she was in the garage sleeping. [WITNESS #1] became upset while speaking to me and advised she had gone through this type of situation with her mother while growing up. [WITNESS #1]’s voice quivered and she had to stop to take a deep breath to continue speaking with me.
[WITNESS #1] advised she got woken up and they were arguing and she saw Tyrease was bleeding. [WITNESS #1] advised Tyrease had a knife in his hand when she woke up and motioned her hand holding something toward the neck area. [WITNESS #1] advised Tyrease was saying “I can’t believe you cut me”. [WITNESS #1] advised she didn’t know how the knife got in his hand but he put it down.
[WITNESS #1] advised she saw everyone screaming at Tyrease saying “you did choke her”. [WITNESS #1] advised when her little sister came into the room she saw Tyrease on top of Tameka choking her all while saying he would never put his hands on her. [WITNESS #1] advised both her other sisters said Tyrease did put his hands on Tameka but she didn’t know if it was true or not. [WITNESS #1] advised the knife was a black kitchen knife but she didn’t know where it was or were it came from.
[WITNESS #1] advised Tyrease was running towards Tameka with the knife saying “I can’t believe you cut me” and telling her she was going to jail. [WITNESS #1] advised Tameka responded “I am not going to jail, I was defending myself” and said that Tyrease wouldn’t leave her alone, while she was trying to go to sleep. [WITNESS #1] advised her 17 year old sister may have saw what happened since she was the first one there.
I spoke to [WITNESS #2] (Tameka’s daughter) and she advised she was asleep and most of the time she was awoken to both Tyrease and Tameka arguing. [WITNESS #2] advised when she ran into the room Tyrease was on Tameka against the wall pushing her and choking her against the wall. [WITNESS #2] advised she was trying to push both of them apart and Tameka was yelling at one of her daughters to go get the knife.
[WITNESS #2] advised when her mother got the knife she stood in between the two to prevent anyone getting cut. [WITNESS #2] was asked how Tyrease got cut she advised he came back at Tameka while she had the knife and Tameka pushed Tyrease against the wall. [WITNESS #2] was asked who was holding the knife and she advised Tameka was. [WITNESS #2] advised it always happened when they drank. [WITNESS #2] advised Tameka used a white and gray knife while Tyrease had a black knife. [WITNESS #2] advised after Tameka got the knife they both went to the living room and that is when Tyrease got the black knife. [WITNESS #2] advised at one point both individuals had a knife.
Tyrease was arrested and placed into handcuffs. Tyrease was read Miranda and searched before being placed in the backseat of my Floyd county marked patrol vehicle. Tyrease advised he got cut because he was trying to defend himself. Tameka was arrested and placed into handcuffs. PFC Pelanek transported Tameka in the backseat of his patrol vehicle. Both Tyrease and Tameka were transported to the Floyd County Jail and handed over to jail staff to be processed.
Back seat of patrol vehicle searched before and after arrest
Handcuffs checked for fit and double locked
