FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – A 54-year-old Chick-fil-A employee has been arrested and charged with sexual battery after being accused of inappropriate contact with a coworker at the restaurant’s Forsyth location, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Kevin Kurtz of Jackson, Ga., was taken into custody Monday following a complaint first filed on July 16. According to investigators, a Chick-fil-A employee went to the sheriff’s office lobby that morning to report the incident, which allegedly occurred around 8 a.m. at the restaurant on Industrial Boulevard.

The sheriff’s office launched what it described as a “thorough investigation,” leading to Kurtz’s arrest on Aug. 4. He is being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail.

An incident report obtained by media indicates that the victim and Kurtz are coworkers and know each other. Under Georgia law, sexual battery is defined as the non-consensual touching of another person’s intimate parts and is classified as a misdemeanor offense.

A since-deleted LinkedIn page listed Kurtz as a “senior leader” at the Forsyth Chick-fil-A. The restaurant’s owner-operator declined to comment, referring inquiries to Chick-fil-A’s corporate office.

In a brief statement, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson said, “The safety of our Team Members and Guests is our utmost priority. The individual has been placed on unpaid leave. Any additional information will come from local law enforcement.”

Chick-fil-A Forsyth opened in 2024. The sheriff’s office said the investigation into the allegations remains ongoing.
