FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – A Forsyth County man arrested earlier this year in a statewide child exploitation sting now faces additional charges after investigators uncovered more than a million images and videos of child sexual abuse on his electronic devices.
Elvis Beltran Pineda was initially taken into custody in January as part of Operation Byte Down, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation initiative targeting individuals who use peer-to-peer networks to trade child pornography. Pineda was among 17 suspects arrested during the operation.
Following his arrest, authorities seized several electronic devices from his home, including external hard drives and a laptop. A forensic review conducted by the Forsyth County Digital Forensic Lab revealed an extensive collection of child exploitation material.
On March 3, investigators secured 15 additional warrants against Pineda, including two for the distribution of child sexual abuse material and 13 for possession.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit arrested Pineda at his Alpharetta home, and he remains in jail without bond.
