On 09/10/2025 around 20:49 hours I responded code 1 to Hardee’s for a remove persons call. On scene I met with [WITNESS #1], the Manager at Hardee’s, [WITNESS #1] stated a guy came into the restaurant was acting rude because he wasn’t able to order certain items on the menu due to closing time. [WITNESS #1] stated the guy was yelling loudly at her employee. [WITNESS #1] stated the guy smelled like alcohol. [WITNESS #1] stated after the guy left he got into a CFI tractor trailer truck parked outside in the parking lot.
Myself and Ofc. Nicely attempted to locate the guy in his truck and at Franklin Package. After checking surrounding areas a guy, later identified as Matthew Crouch, walked up to the truck holding a Burger King bag. Crouch was wearing the clothes described by the employees at Hardee’s. I approached Crouch at the truck and started questioning him about the incident at Hardee’s. Crouch stated he was never at Hardee’s and walked off from me. I stopped Crouch by placing my hand on his left arm. I then told Crouch he is being detained while i investigate what happened. I smelled a strong odor of a alcoholic beverage coming from Crouch’s persons and breath. I walked back over to [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]. I showed both employees a picture of Crouch and asked was he the one that was yelling at them. [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] stated that he was the guy.
I walked back over to Crouch and told him he was under arrest. Crouch was handcuffed from the back, double locked, and checked for fit. Crouch was searched then placed into the backseat of Ofc. Nicely’s patrol car and buckled in. Crouch was later transported to the Franklin County Detention Center.
