FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta announced a $5,000 reward for information about a murder suspect who escaped custody while awaiting treatment at an Atlanta hospital. Officials explained that anonymous tip providers still qualify for the reward.

Atlanta Police said 32-year-old Carwon Marquavious Redding fled from Atlanta City Detention Center staff custody at Grady Hospital on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Records revealed that MARTA Police officers arrested Redding on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in relation to a homicide that occurred on April 14, 2024. Redding faces charges of criminal attempt to sell cocaine and felony murder for the Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway incident.

Security footage revealed Redding fleeing the area on foot in a blue hospital gown and bright yellow socks; however, he likely changed his attire.

Authorities are asking the public for assistance in this ongoing investigation. If anyone finds a discarded hospital gown or yellow socks, police urge them to contact 911.

Police ask anyone with information regarding Redding to please call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477), visit www.stopcrimeatl.org, or text CSA + the information to CRIMES (274637).
