FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – The Atlanta Dream will begin their 2025 season at State Farm Arena, where they will face off against the Indiana Fever in their home opener, the team revealed. This announcement marks a shift from their original plan to host the game at Gateway Center Arena.
Larry Gottesdiener, the majority owner of the Atlanta Dream, explained that while substantial efforts were made to create a standout game-day experience at Gateway Center Arena, a scheduling conflict opened the door to moving the highly anticipated match to State Farm Arena. The decision allows the team to accommodate a larger crowd and bring the excitement of the game to more fans. Gottesdiener expressed appreciation for the arena’s hospitality.
The Dream, who have made back-to-back playoff appearances, are heading into the new season with high hopes and a strengthened roster. The team has continued to build momentum after securing sell-out season ticket sales for two consecutive years.
In the off-season, the franchise made key additions, including 10-time All-Star Brittney Griner, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and 2014 WNBA champion. The Dream also added Brionna Jones, a three-time All-Star, and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, a WNBA champion, further solidifying their roster for the upcoming season.
Last year’s game against the Fever was moved to accommodate the high ticket demand as well, with fans eager to see top players, including former No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark. The team’s increased popularity was evident, with tickets selling out quickly, and the move to State Farm Arena this year is a response to this growing demand.
Morgan Shaw Parker, the Dream’s President and Chief Operating Officer, shared her excitement for the home opener, stating that the anticipation surrounding the team has never been greater. She emphasized that the season’s debut on May 22 will be an unforgettable experience for fans, with an electrified atmosphere expected in the packed arena.
For fans looking to secure their seats early, presale access for the home opener and other games is available through the team’s website. General ticket sales for the game, along with all other regular season home games, will begin on March 21, with single-game and season options available.
