FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – The Women’s Comedy Film Festival, an annual celebration of female-driven comedy, returns to Atlanta this March 16 for a day packed with screenings, live filmmaker Q&A sessions, and a screenplay competition. This year’s event, hosted at Limelight Theater (349 Decatur Street SE), will bring together independent filmmakers, actors, and comedy enthusiasts to spotlight the incredible talents of women in the film industry.

The festival, part of the Cinema Life Film Festival Collective, is dedicated to empowering female filmmakers and ensuring their voices are heard in an increasingly diverse and evolving film landscape. With an emphasis on comedy, the event showcases female directors, writers, and producers from around the globe, highlighting their unique perspectives and creative contributions.

The festival will feature a full day of events, including live table reads and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, allowing attendees to gain insight into the creative process behind each film. The festival also recognizes the best of the best with awards in a variety of categories, such as Best Comedy, Best Micro Short Comedy, and Best Dark Comedy, among others. A judging panel comprised of experienced industry professionals will select the winners, who will be publicly acknowledged for their outstanding work.

Tickets for the event are on sale now, and the doors will open at 9:45 AM. The festival invites both seasoned cinephiles and casual moviegoers to enjoy a day of laughter, networking, and support for women in comedy. As one of the fastest-growing film communities in the world, Atlanta serves as the perfect backdrop for this dynamic gathering.

For those interested in submitting their films or screenplays to the festival, the submission process is open to works that meet one of several criteria, including films directed, written, or produced by women or films with a female lead actor or centered around a female-driven plot. In addition to the film submissions, scriptwriters can take advantage of optional script coverage services, which include an analysis of their work by an experienced Cinema Life filmmaker.

The Women’s Comedy Film Festival not only serves as a celebration of women in film but also as a platform for them to connect, collaborate, and continue shaping the future of the industry.
