FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Jerry Chambers has been arrested and charged with murder and cruelty to children following the death of his 3-month-old son, Joshua, in a College Park hotel room, according to Fulton County Jail records.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Police responded to a Travelodge on Old National Parkway, where they made contact with Chambers. According to the arrest warrant, Chambers stated that he left his infant son alone in the hotel room while he went to work on Sunday. When he returned, he found the child unresponsive and foaming at the mouth.
Chambers told investigators he attempted to resuscitate the baby but was unsuccessful. He then left the hotel and stayed elsewhere overnight, returning the following morning before leaving for work again. Authorities say he did not call emergency services until Tuesday evening, more than two days after initially finding the baby unresponsive.
Police confirmed that no medical assistance was sought during the two-day period.
The investigation remains active.
