[NARRATIVE #1 on December 03, 2025]

On 12/03/2025, at approximately 1328 hours, I (Ofc. K. White #2613), along with Ofc. D. Lawson #2685, responded to an Information on a Wanted Person call at [400 BLOCK] Parkway Drive NE. Dispatch advised that the listed victim contacted 911 stating he had located the individual who previously assaulted him approximately four months ago. The victim further advised that the suspect was currently parked in a vehicle at the listed location and requested police response to investigate and apprehend the individual.

Upon arrival, I made contact with the listed victim, who directed officers to the suspect’s vehicle. Officers made contact with the listed suspect and conducted a safety approach while maintaining visual control of all parties involved. After all individuals were separated, I conducted on-scene interviews with both the listed victim and the listed suspect. All verbal statements were documented via Body-Worn Camera (BWC) for evidentiary purposes.

During the course of the interview, the listed victim stated that the initial incident between him and the suspect occurred approximately four months prior and stemmed from a verbal misunderstanding that escalated into a physical altercation involving a firearm. The victim advised that he immediately recognized the suspect upon observing him at the current location and contacted 911 for police assistance.

After obtaining statements from both parties and verifying details from the original case file, I consulted with the Aggravated Assault Investigator, Inv. C. Young, who confirmed that the listed suspect on scene maybe in connection with the prior aggravated assault investigation. Based on the information gathered and investigative direction, the listed suspect was detained without incident and transported to Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters by Ofc. D. Lawson (#2685) in marked Zone Six patrol vehicle #34750 for further questioning and processing.

Zone Six Supervisor Sgt. Davis (#2693) and Aggravated Assault Investigator Inv. C. Young were both notified and responded to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation. The listed suspect’s vehicle was impounded by A-Tow and transported to the Atlanta City Annex Property Cage for further processing and evidentiary review.

Case History:

1/28/2026

FIRST APPEARANCE HEARING IN FULTON COUNTY JAIL

What this means: Lamont Accoo had his first court appearance while in custody at the Fulton County Jail. This initial hearing typically involves informing the defendant of the charges against them and addressing bond. The hearing was handled by the jail’s video court system, allowing Accoo to appear before Judge John DeFoor II without being transported to the courthouse.

1/28/2026

BOND DENIED BY JUDGE DEFOOR

What this means: Judge John DeFoor II denied bond for Lamont Accoo, meaning he must remain in jail while his case proceeds. The judge found that Accoo poses a significant threat or danger to any person, the community, or property, and poses a significant risk of committing a felony while on trial. The order specifically prohibits any contact with victim Daryl Wright. This means Accoo cannot be released on bail and must stay in custody until his case is resolved.

2/9/2026

PUBLIC DEFENDER SHION NAGASAKA ENTERS APPEARANCE

What this means: Attorney Shion Nagasaka from the Fulton County Office of the Public Defender officially entered as Lamont Accoo’s court-appointed attorney in case 26P1000726. Nagasaka is based at the Public Defender’s office at 100 Peachtree Street NW in Atlanta and will represent Accoo throughout the criminal proceedings since he likely cannot afford private counsel.

2/9/2026

DEFENSE FILES SPEEDY TRIAL DEMAND

What this means: Lamont Accoo’s attorney Shion Nagasaka filed a Constitutional Speedy Trial Demand, formally asserting Accoo’s Sixth Amendment right to a speedy trial. This filing puts pressure on the prosecution to move the case forward quickly and prevents unnecessary delays. Under Georgia law, this demand typically requires the state to bring the case to trial within a specific timeframe or risk having the charges dismissed.

2/18/2026

DEFENSE FILES MOTION FOR BOND

What this means: Lamont Accoo’s attorney filed a petition asking the court to reconsider the earlier bond denial and grant him release from jail pending trial. This motion likely argues that Accoo should be allowed to post bond under certain conditions while awaiting resolution of his case, challenging Judge DeFoor’s original determination that he should remain in custody.

2/19/2026

PRELIMINARY HEARING SCHEDULED FOR 9:00 AM

What this means: A preliminary hearing was set for Lamont Accoo at 9:00 AM in Fulton Superior Court. However, since the grand jury had already returned an indictment on the same day, this preliminary hearing may have been rendered unnecessary. Preliminary hearings determine whether there’s probable cause to believe a crime was committed and the defendant committed it, but an indictment typically satisfies this requirement and moves the case directly to arraignment.

2/19/2026

INDICTMENT FILED BY FULTON COUNTY GRAND JURY

What this means: The Fulton County Grand Jury formally indicted Lamont Accoo on two felony charges in case 26P1000726. Count 1 charges Lamont Accoo with Aggravated Assault under O.C.G.A. §16-5-21 for allegedly pointing a handgun at Daryl Wright on December 3, 2025. Count 2 charges him with Possession of Firearm During Commission of Certain Felonies under O.C.G.A. §16-11-106 for allegedly having a handgun during the commission of the aggravated assault. District Attorney Fani T. Willis filed the indictment, which was signed by Grand Jury Foreperson Charles Bonney Jr. The indictment formally brings the case to Fulton Superior Court for prosecution.

2/26/2026

DEFENSE FILES DISCOVERY MOTION FOR DISCLOSURE

What this means: Lamont Accoo’s defense team filed a Motion for Disclosure of Exculpatory and Impeaching Information and Evidence in case 26SC000653. This motion requests that the prosecution turn over all evidence that could help prove Accoo’s innocence or undermine the credibility of prosecution witnesses, as required under Brady v. Maryland. The motion specifically seeks evidence that indicates the defendant is not guilty of the charged offenses or that could help reduce his sentence.

2/26/2026

ATTORNEY SAMANTHA TRIPPEDO ENTERS APPEARANCE

What this means: Attorney Samantha Trippedo from the Fulton County Office of the Public Defender officially entered her appearance as counsel for Lamont Accoo in case 26SC000653. Trippedo, licensed as Georgia Bar No. 365507, is based at 100 Peachtree Street NW in Atlanta and asserted Accoo’s constitutional rights to remain silent and to have legal representation during any questioning by law enforcement.

2/26/2026

DEFENSE FILES ELECTION TO PROCEED UNDER DISCOVERY RULES

What this means: Lamont Accoo’s attorney filed formal notice that the defense elects to proceed under O.C.G.A. §17-16-1 et seq., Georgia’s discovery statutes. This filing creates a continuing duty for the prosecution to disclose evidence during the pretrial phase, including before plea negotiations and trial. The defense is requesting a complete copy of the indictment, witness lists, and all evidence the state intends to present at trial.

3/3/2026

ANA WRIGHT SUBSTITUTED AS LEAD COUNSEL

What this means: Attorney Ana Wright has been substituted as the new lead counsel for Lamont Accoo in case 26SC000653, replacing the previous attorney of record. What this means: Lamont Accoo’s new attorney Ana Wright filed Defendant’s Discovery Requests and Notice of Defendant’s Election to Proceed Under O.C.G.A. §17-16-1 Et Seq. This comprehensive filing demands that the prosecution provide a complete copy of the indictment with witness lists, all evidence they intend to call at trial, witness statements that contradict each other, any alleged co-conspirator statements, and copies of all statements made by Accoo to law enforcement.

3/6/2026

PROSECUTION FILES CERTIFICATE OF DISCOVERY

What this means: The prosecution, led by District Attorney Fani T. Willis and Assistant District Attorney S/Lauren Polk, filed a Certificate of Discovery in Judge Paige Reese Whitaker’s court. This document confirms they have provided the defense with the State’s Demand for Discovery under O.C.G.A. §17-16-1, Et Seq. The prosecution also served various evidence materials to the defense but noted these items have not yet been filed with the Clerk of Court. A copy of Accoo’s criminal history (GCIC) has been provided to the defense as required.

3/11/2026

PLEA AND ARRAIGNMENT HEARING SCHEDULED FOR 10:00 AM

3/16/2026

PROSECUTION FILES SUPPLEMENTAL DISCOVERY

What this means: The prosecution filed additional discovery materials for Lamont Accoo’s case in Judge Paige Reese Whitaker’s court. This supplemental discovery includes an Incident Report and Axon body-worn camera footage (Axon BWC) that was attached to the certificate but not filed with the Clerk of Court. The prosecution noted that all physical evidence is available for examination and copying by making arrangements with the evidence custodian as required under O.C.G.A. §17-16-4(b).
