The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Atlanta Police Department on June 19, 2024:
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – On June 19, 2024, at approximately 12:46 a.m., Atlanta Police Zone 1 officers responded to a report of a person shot at 206 Harwell Pl. NW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 22-year-old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing, and transported to the hospital by ambulance. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in a physical dispute with an unknown suspect over marijuana, and the dispute escalated to gunfire.
Investigators responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
