The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Sandy Springs Police Department on June 22, 2024:
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – On Friday, June 21″, 2024 at approximately 8:42am, Sandy Springs police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex to help locate a missing five-year-old female with special needs. After a brief search of the area, the child was located in the apartment complex swimming pool.
Without hesitation, a Sandy Springs police officer Jumped into the swimming pool and retrieved the child. Upon exiting the pool, first responders began life-saving measures on the child, and the was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta where she was declared deceased.
