[NARRATIVE #1 on December 30, 2025]
On Tuesday December 30, 2025 at approximately 11:00, I, Deputy Peardon, along with Deputy Stanley #557 was dispatched to The Red Apple Barn in reference to someone hitting their mailbox and damaging the guardrail.
At approximately 11:08, we arrived at Red Apple Barn and spoke with the caller [VICTIM #1] and he advised us that this morning at approximately 07:50 that a burgundy colored car had struck their mailbox and damaged the guardrail.
Myself and Deputy Stanley walked outside with Mr. [VICTIM #1] and observed that approximately 40 feet of the guardrail had been damaged and there was pieces of their mailbox lying on the ground. I also observed deep tire tracks where it appeared that a vehicle had been sliding in the direction of the guardrail. Once we approached the damaged section of the guardrail, I observed some burgundy paint along the guardrail.
A female, by the name of [WITNESS #1], who works at the Red Apple Barn said that at approximately 07:50 this morning, she observed a burgundy vehicle parked up the road. Then at approximately 07:55, when she went back to work she observed the same vehicle and they appeared to be changing the tire but the vehicle had heavy damage on the passenger side but it was still dark at that time.
I took photograph’s of all the damages and sent them to [REDACTED] to be added to the report. Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that if he was able to pull the camera footage he would send it to us later on. DOT was notified about the damaged guardrail by dispatch. Victim pamplet issued with the case number and my name and badge number.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 30, 2025]
On December 30, 2025 at approximately 1130 hours, I Lt. Hefner, recieved a phone call from Deputy Stanley. Deputy Stanley advised me of a red Pt Cruiser style car that had hit a guard rail on Tails Creek Road, causing extensive damage.
I then looked at FLOCK and located a red Chevy HHR [REDACTED] that had extensive damage to the passengers side, that entered into Murray County shortly after the witness seen the vehicle. I looked up a history on this vehicle and noticed that the damage on the side was not present on 12/29/2025 at 1647 hours.
I then advised Stanley that this was the suspect vehicle and she advised me that a female and a male were seen changing the tire. I put out a hotlist alert on the HHR, set to notify UPD if it reentered Gilmer County.
On this same date at approximately 2130 hours, I received an alert from FLOCK indicating that the vehicle was on Highway 282, I made an attempt to catch up to the vehicle and advised Murray county to be on the lookout. Murray county called me at approximately 2140 and advised that the female driver of the vehicle was waiting with the HHR at East Ellijay walmart. I responded code one to meet with the driver of the vehicle and arrived at approximately 2150 hours.
Upon my arrival, I observed a female standing outside of the HHR speaking with Deputy J. Parks. The female was asked if she knew why we were looking for her and she spoke of the accident. The female was identified by her drivers license as Laura Crosby.
I read Laura her miranda rights and began asking her about the accident. I advised the female the extent of the damage she caused to State and personal property and asked why she left without speaking with Deputies. Laura stated that she did not know the extent of the damage and that she alone was in the vehicle. I asked Laura about a male who was seen with her and she stated that her boyfriend came to help change a tire.
Laura was placed in handcuffs (double locked and checked for fitting) and placed in the rear of patrol car #222. Laura was searched and seat belted in for safety. Laura had an outstanding warrant for FTA out of GIlmer for a traffic offense and was also written citations for Failure to maintain lane 101-159, Hit and run 101-158 and duty upon striking a fixed object 101-160.
Prior to leaving the jail, I called the number to [VICTIM #1] that dispatch advised 2 times and left a message, I notated this on the pre book sheet. On 1/2/25 I called [VICTIM #1] again and made sure that he was made aware of the arrest.
