On 06/01/2026 at approximately 0404 hours I responded to 4341 New Jesup HWY (Friendly’s gas station) in reference to a suspicious individual.

When I arrived on scene I saw a black female speaking with individuals at the entrance of the store. As I pulled into the parking lot the female began stumbling away from the entrance of the store. I then got out of my vehicle and asked the female to stop and attempted to speak with her.

The female had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her as she spoke, this coincides with the half consumed bottle of wine she was carrying.

The female was incapable of holding a conversation. I attempted on multiple occasions to retrieve the females name and date of birth but the female was too incoherent to provide me with this information. The entirety of the conversation, the female spoke over me and seemingly held a conversation with herself.

After asking multiple times the female stated her name was Akeyana. Due to her inability to hold a conversation and erratic bodily movements I asked if she had consumed any medications today to which she replied no. I then I asked if she had any mental health issues and she stated she battles schizophrenia.

Ofc. Griffis #162 who was also on scene stood with Ms. Akeyana while I went speak with the employees at the Friendly’s Express. I spoke with the manager [WITNESS #1] and another employee [WITNESS #2]. They informed me that the female had been in the parking lot yelling, twerking, approaching customers, and lifting up her dress exposing her vag*na to the general public. They did not want her criminally trespassed but stated she needed to get off the property.

Based on the circumstances, I placed Ms. Akeyana under arrest for public drunkness and public indecency. She was searched and placed in the back of my patrol vehicle.

Due to the fact that Ms. Akeyana was unable to provide her identifying information, Brunswick Police Department was contacted to assist us in identifying her with their Finger print scanner.

While waiting, Ms. Akeyana continued yelling, using profanity, moving around erratically, and hit her head against the Plexiglass that separates the front from seats from the back.

I then attempted to speak with Ms. Akeyana again to retrieve her identification. She provided me with her first, middle, and last name as well as a birth date. Using this information I was able to identify her using her local involvement’s.

While I was doing this, Ms. Akeyana continued yelling and eventually began using both her feet to kick the back doors of my patrol vehicle. I attempted to yell and get her attention so that she would stop, but she did not respond. For this reason I opened the back door, instructed her to stop and maneuvered her back into a seated position in the seat.

While I was standing in the door frame attempting to speak with her she maneuvered herself to the opposite side of the vehicle and attempted to kick me. She made multiple threats towards me during this time. I then shut the door and spoke with the other officers on scene.

While I was outside of the car, Ms. Akeyana continued to sporadically kick the door. As a result of these actions Ms. Akeyana was brought outside of the patrol vehicle and escorted to the ground where Ofc. Kiser #148 then applied leg restraints. This was to prevent her from kicking the door which in turn could have resulted in damages to the vehicle and injury.

We then placed her back in the vehicle on her stomach and attempted to secure the leg restraints in the door. While trying to shut the door, Ms. Akeyana repeatedly kicked the door preventing Ofc. Kiser from shutting it. We eventually were able to shut the door in between increments of her kicks.

Based on her current mental state and consumption of alcohol, she was brought to the hospital for an evaluation and to determine if she would be emitted into the hospital for her mental health issues or not.

While at the hospital Ms. Akeyana maintained the same demeanor and did not comply with medical professionals as they attempted to treat her. The doctor recognized Ms. Akeyana and stated she’s routinely brought in and refuses to take her medication and in turn recreationally consumes a variety of drugs/narcotics.

The hospital provided me with a jail clearance for Ms. Akeyana and she was then transported to the county detention center where I transferred her to their custody.
