Officer’s Narrative:

On June 9, 2026, approximately 2241 hours, I, Officer Austin #483, was on duty with Patrol A-1 of the Brunswick Police Department (BPD). I was in full BPD patrol uniform and equipped with an Axon 4 body-worn camera. My assigned patrol vehicle was marked unit 24-2.

I responded to possible domestic disturbance at [REDACTED]. Dispatch advised the complainant stated the father of her child had broken her phone, punched her in the face, and was still on scene on the back porch. The complainant identified the male as Brandon Faircloth and stated that her oldest child witnessed the incident. While en route, dispatch advised that the other party had also called and reported that the mother of his children attacked him, grabbed him by the neck, and pushed his belongings out the back door.

Upon arrival, I observed a white male wearing a white shirt and tan shorts standing near a white Chevrolet. The male was later identified as Brandon Faircloth (offender). While Officer Bergans spoke with Mr. Faircloth, I made contact with the complainant at [REDACTED]. The complainant was identified as [VICTIM #1] (victim/complainant).

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she and Mr. Faircloth were lying in bed when she told him he needed to leave because he could no longer stay there. She stated Mr. Faircloth packed his belongings and was leaving through the back door carrying a tote containing his belongings. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated while he was leaving, he began cursing at her because she had a black boyfriend.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated as Mr. Faircloth was about to walk out the back door, he charged toward her, slapped her on the right side of her face with an open left hand, and then pulled her to the ground by her hair. She further stated that Mr. Faircloth took her cell phone and threw it onto the kitchen floor, causing the screen to break. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated her daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (victim/witness), witnessed the incident. I did not observe any marks or redness on the right side of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s face. I did observe a cell phone lying on the kitchen floor with a shattered screen.

I then spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who stated she was standing in the doorway between the living room and kitchen when she observed her father slap her mother in the face and pull her by the hair. [REDACTED] stated she attempted to pull her father away from her mother. She further stated Mr. Faircloth took her mother’s phone and slammed it onto the ground.

I later made contact with Mr. Faircloth. Mr. Faircloth stated he and Ms. [VICTIM #1] were lying in bed discussing their respective new relationships. He stated Ms. [VICTIM #1] became upset and told him to leave. Mr. Faircloth stated while he was gathering his belongings, Ms. [VICTIM #1] grabbed him by the shirt, and he pushed her away. He further stated Ms. [VICTIM #1] threw his belongings out the back door. Mr. Faircloth denied slapping Ms. [VICTIM #1] and denied throwing her phone.

While talking to Mr. Faircloth I could smell the odor of an alcohol beverage coming from his breath. Mr. Faircloth stated he drunk a few beers earlier that day. Mr. Faircloth stated he had been living with Ms. [VICTIM #1] since March 2026, had left for approximately one week, and then returned. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she had only allowed him to stay at the residence for a few days. Mr. Faircloth and Ms. [VICTIM #1] share two children together.

Mr. Faircloth was advised he was under arrest for Simple Battery (FVA), Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree, and Criminal Trespass (FVA). Mr. Faircloth hands were placed in handcuffs behind his back. The handcuffs were double locked and checked for tightness. Mr. Faircloth was searched, and no contraband was found. Mr. Faircloth was then placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Glynn County Detention Center and released to booking officers without incident.
