On November 5, 2025, at approximately 1658 hours, Glynn-Brunswick 911 Communications received a 911 call from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] The caller reported that “Black h*es at Hardees stealing…” things. Dispatch advised that this caller had previously called 911 numerous times, reporting things that were not happening. I responded to this call. Dispatch advised that the male used to live at the storage units near Hardee’s.

Upon arrival to Hardee’s, I observed a few employees in the lobby area on their phones. Due to the information provided by dispatch, I parked my patrol vehicle near the storage units (4345 Community Road). I began walking around the units, checking for any that would be unlocked. While walking, I observed a black male sitting on an orange bucket near Community Road. The male was later identified as Gregory Reed. I asked Gregory if he had made a 911 call. Gregory said no and that he was waiting for a delivery vehicle to arrive at his location. I asked Gregory if he had seen any other people in this area. Gregory said he had earlier seen a female. I soon left Gregory’s location.

I continued walking around the storage units. I knocked on some of the units that did not have a lock, however, I did not make contact with anyone. Officer Jones (213) arrived on scene and did the same, with no contact.

I then walked into Hardee’s and advised the staff of the call we received. Staff advised that nothing was happening and that everyone was ok. I closed this call as unfounded. As I was leaving the scene, I observed Gregory now walking away from where he was seated. I found this odd due to an earlier statement where he was waiting on a delivery vehicle. I did not observe any delivery vehicles arrive on scene. (G25-69724)

Later, I was speaking with Officer Pritchett (146) about the previous call. Officer Pritchett is familiar with a black older male who had previously misused 911. Officer Pritchett said he would be able to recognize the male if he saw him Officer Pritchett and I reviewed my body camera footage where I had interacted with Gregory. Officer Pritchett confirmed that Gregory was the male he had previously interacted with. I opened a follow-up call, and Officer Pritchett and I responded to the area of Hardee’s.

Upon arrival, I observed Gregory walking in the parking lot of 4412 New Jesup Highway, which is directly South of the storage units. Prior to exiting my vehicle, I asked Glynn County Dispatch to call the phone number that had called in the previous incident. I then exited my vehicle and approached Officer Pritchett and Gregory. While Officer Pritchett and Gregory were speaking, I heard Gregory’s phone vibrate. I heard this due to Gregory holding his phone against the inside of the orange bucket. When the phone vibrated, Gregory dropped it in the bucket. I attempted to look at the phone, but Gregory moved the bucket.

I asked Gregory if he could open his phone and swipe down. Gregory began speaking and eventually swiped the screen down, which had shown his notifications. The most recent notification was a missed call from the Glynn County Dispatch. The notification indicated that it was received one minute ago. Officer Pritchett soon placed Gregory under arrest for misuse of 911.

Later, I spoke with the Glynn County dispatcher via telephone and asked about obtaining the previous 911 recordings from Gregory. The dispatcher advised that I would need to speak with the Department Director. I will soon follow up with the Director.
