On the above date and time, I, Officer Acevedo, responded to [1600 BLOCK] Stonewall Street in reference to a domestic disturbance.
On scene, I would speak with Henry Alester Navarro, the offender. I would speak with [VICTIM #1] (Victim) and [WITNESS #1] (Witness). Henry and [VICTIM #1] are dating and currently live together. Therefore, this report meets the requirements for a Family Violence Report by O.C.G.A. 19-13-1 and 17-4-20.1.
The following report is a synopsis of events and is not verbatim. The events are described to the best of my knowledge and recollection.
The statement below is from the victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1]:
On 09/06/2025, Henry was sitting outside on the closed-in porch of [1600 BLOCK] Stonewall Street. He was drinking, which he admitted to on scene. [VICTIM #1] comes outside and gives Henry a sandwich because he was mad that she had not fed him. When [VICTIM #1] comes to the porch, she gives Henry the sandwiches to eat, but Henry starts to insult her.
Henry got up, pushed, and grabbed both her arms by the wrists and pushed her into two stacked ice coolers. [VICTIM #1] moved out of the way of the ice coolers and bit him on his left arm. Henry pushes [VICTIM #1] to the left side of the porch. [VICTIM #1] said Henry had been choking her with both his hands. [VICTIM #1] said she was able to breathe and did not feel like she was going to pass out. [VICTIM #1] knew there was a machete behind her.
[VICTIM #1] gets away from Henry’s hold and grabs the Machete and turns, hitting Henry in the leg. Henry grabs the Machete away from [VICTIM #1]. They walk into the house. Henry walks into the living room and pushes the TV, causing it to slide off the frame. The screen had fallen off, and I could see the light bulbs of the TV. [VICTIM #1] said that Henry had hit her with a machete on her back. [VICTIM #1] showed me her back. I was able to see a large, swollen mark shaped as a machete and looked similar in size and width to the Machete I took possession of from Henry.
While talking to [WITNESS #1], she said she was inside the house, in the living room. She said she saw Henry push the TV, causing it to break. She did not see Henry hit [VICTIM #1] on her back, but saw Henry walk inside the house with the Machete.
The statement below is from Mr. Navarro:
Mr. Navarro said he was relaxing on his porch, drinking. He said that [VICTIM #1] had come outside with a machete in her hand. He said that he had then grabbed [VICTIM #1] by both wrists. Mr. Navarro had gotten distracted by another officer on scene talking to another person on scene. I then asked him again what had happened.
I asked Mr. Navarro if he was drinking on his porch, to which he said yes. I then asked him to continue with what happened after. He said that he was listening to music. He said that [VICTIM #1] had come outside and broken his speaker. He did not mention anything about a machete at this point in his telling the story a second time. He told [VICTIM #1] to calm down and asked her what she was doing.
I asked Mr. Navarro if they were both mad at each other, to which he said no. While talking to Mr. Navarro, everyone on the scene had come to the truck we were at. I separated everyone. The witness and the male who was driving her were trying to leave, but couldn’t due to Mr. Navarro having the Machete in the back of the truck. I then proceeded to take the Machete and place it in my vehicle.
I then asked Mr. Navarro what had happened again. He said he was drinking on his porch and listening to music. He said [VICTIM #1] then comes out of the house. He said that they started to verbally argue. Mr. Navarro then stated that [VICTIM #1] had grabbed the Machete from outside. He then said that he tried to grab her wrists and attempted to show me by grabbing my own wrists. Mr. Navarro then said [VICTIM #1] had bit him in the left arm. I then went to talk to [VICTIM #1].
Based on the overall investigation, I determined Henry Alester Navarro to be the predominant aggressor in the act of family violence of Aggravated Assault FVA. [VICTIM #1] said this was the first time police had responded to a domestic disturbance. She also advised that there were no court orders against each other.
