On March 29, 2026, at about 1252 hrs., I responded to the area of Altama Conn. & Ga. Spur 25 in reference to a report of a motor vehicle hit and run accident, where the complainant, later identified as Mr. [WITNESS #1], observed the suspect vehicle (a white 2019 Dodge Charger with IN. tag [REDACTED]) fail to yield, strike another vehicle, and then, flee the scene.
Upon my arrival, I made contact and spoke with the remaining involved parties and conducted an accident investigation. (See GEARS Report.) After gathering necessary information, the BOLO information was sent to patrol units in the area and dispatch relayed the information to other nearby counties.
Ofc. D. Jones #213 arrived on scene to assist and utilized the “FLOCK” camera system to find a direction of travel for the suspect vehicle. According to “FLOCK,” the suspect vehicle was last seen entering into Wayne County, at about 1312 hrs.
Shortly after Wayne County S.O. was notified, dispatch advised that Wayne County deputies had located the suspect vehicle and were attempting to stop it. Wayne County deputies were advised that the driver, later identified as Mr. James Boone, Jr., had pending charges against him and was to be taken into custody.
After deputies stopped the vehicle, we were advised that Mr. Boone was in custody. After receiving this information, Ofc. E. Hall #134 responded to Ga. 27 & Ga. 23, where Wayne County deputies stopped the vehicle, to take Mr. Boone into custody and transport him back to 157 Carl Alexander Way (GCPD) for me.
Once Ofc. Hall arrived, he sent me photos of the vehicle to confirm the corresponding damages and then, transported Mr. Boone. Glynn County rotational wrecker service, Dependable Towing, was notified, by Service, and responded to remove Mr. Boone’ s vehicle.
Once Ofc. Hall arrived with Mr. Boone, I took custody of Mr. Boone, and he was secured in the backseat of my marked patrol vehicle. Mr. Boon was transported to the ER of 2415 Parkwood Dr. for a medical/jail clearance, due to being in an accident collision. After Mr. Boone was seen and cleared by ER medical physicians and staff, he transported to the GCDC where he was later released to the custody of the jail staff upon completion of necessary booking paperwork.
Mr. Boone was advised and issued citations for Failure to Obey a Yield Sign and Hit and Run; Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
This encounter was audio and video recorded, and the video was later uploaded into Evidence.com. All related documents were also later uploaded into Evidence.com. The backseat of my patrol vehicle was checked prior to and after the transport of Mr. Boone.
