On 24 May 2026, at approximately 2220 hrs, I responded to [REDACTED] in reference to a fight.
Upon my arrival, I met with James David Musgrove Jr. Musgrove Jr. was extremely intoxicated. He could not stand, had blood on his arms and t-shirt, and could not make complete sentences. The odor of an alcoholic beverage filled the air as he spoke.
He informed me he had been drinking at a neighbor’s house. When he came back home, he and his father, James David Musgrove Sr., got into a fight about something, but he could not remember what. Musgrove Sr. was lying face-first on the ground behind me. Officer K. Diaz, Badge %185, went to check on him.
Witness Statement
The caller was Musgrove Jr.’s 13-year-old son, [JUVENILE #1]. He informed us that Musgrove Jr. and Musgrove Sr. were in a mutual fight with each other. He was able to witness everything from the window inside the residence.
Investigation
Other officers on scene informed me that Musgrove Sr. did not start the fight but also tackled his son.
Musgrove Jr. stated that he and his father got into a verbal altercation and his father attacked him, tackling him to the ground.
Musgrove Jr. had a laceration to the left elbow with blood coming from it. Both parties were checked out on scene by Emergency Medical Services. He also informed me that he and his father live in the same household, making this an act of family violence.
Disposition
Based on the statements provided, Musgrove Jr. was arrested for Battery FVA and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree. Officer M. Kiser, Badge #148, transported Musgrove Jr.
Musgrove Sr. was taken to the hospital due to his injuries. I will be seeking a warrant for his arrest for Battery FVA and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree.
