On 05/30/2026 at approximately 1753 hours, I responded to 2500 Norwich St in reference to a domestic that occurred on [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Upon arrival, I spoke with Brunswick Police Officer SaintLoui #483. He advised me he responded here in reference to a domestic, but after further investigation, he discovered the incident occurred in the County.

I then spoke with H/F [VICTIM #1], who was crying and visibly upset. Let it be known there was a language barrier, so I communicated with [VICTIM #1] through [REDACTED].

I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened. [VICTIM #1] stated she and her boyfriend H/M Jose Hernandez-Perez were in a physical altercation at [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] stated she and her boyfriend have not spoken in days because she works on social media, and Jose does not like that. [VICTIM #1] stated today that she stopped working around 1720 hours because Jose and her needed to pick up their daughter from daycare. [VICTIM #1] stated when Jose came into the room, they began arguing again about [VICTIM #1]’s work.

[VICTIM #1] stated Jose was calling her a “b*tch” and a “f*cking wh*re”. [VICTIM #1] stated that after arguing for a few minutes, Jose used the phone in his hand to slap [VICTIM #1] on the left side of her face. Then grabbed [VICTIM #1]’s phone, an orange iPhone 17, and threw it against the wall. [VICTIM #1] stated Jose then grabbed her and threw her to the ground, climbed on top of her, and, with both his hands, choked her, to the point she felt like she could not breathe.

[VICTIM #1] stated Jose then walked into the kitchen, grabbed a knife, came back into the bedroom, and told [VICTIM #1] he was going to kill her. [VICTIM #1] stated he begged Jose not to kill her, and to think about their daughter. [VICTIM #1] stated Jose did hit her on the leg with the knife, but she did not have any visible injuries to her leg.

[VICTIM #1] stated she tried to run away from the house, but Jose told her to get in the car so they could go get their daughter. [VICTIM #1] stated she was dropped off on the side of the road near P Street. [VICTIM #1] stated she ran from P Street to 2500 Norwich St, where she used the phone to call 911. [VICTIM #1] stated she does not know if Jose picked up their daughter or went home, but she knows he was going to pack his stuff and go to his brother’s place in Atlanta.

I observed ligature marks around [VICTIM #1]’s throat and slight subconjunctival hemorrhages in both of [VICTIM #1]’s eyes. I photographed all of these and uploaded them to evidence.com.

While I was speaking with [VICTIM #1], I advised other Officers that I would have charges on Jose and he may be attempting to flee Glynn County in a red Chevrolet Sonic. Officers went to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and took custody of Jose and the child. I then transported [VICTIM #1] from 2500 Norwich St to [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

When I arrived, I asked [VICTIM #1] if I could go inside [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where the incident occurred, to look for evidence. She said yes. I walked inside the house and saw a orange in color Iphone sitting on the counter. In the bedroom, I also observed an impact mark and a hole in the wall, the exact shape of the iPhone [VICTIM #1] stated Jose threw. [VICTIM #1] also pointed into the closet and stated that’s where she was thrown to the ground and choked. I did see dark brown hair, which was the same as [VICTIM #1]’s, on the floor next to where she said she was choked.

At this time Ofc. Morrison spoke with Ofc. Sanchez via phone, and she translated for us. [VICTIM #1] explained the situation again to other Officers. [VICTIM #1] also showed us marks on her back and left arm, which were photographed and uploaded to evidence.com.

[VICTIM #1] was given an English and Spanish victims’ bill of rights and a case card.

Ofc. Morrison transported Jose to the Glynn County Detention Center, where he was booked for Aggravated Assault by Strangulation FVA, and Criminal Trespass FVA for damaging the wall.
