On 07/11/26, Glynn County Police Department was requested to respond to a Animal Welfare.

Upon arrival, I came in contact with Ofc. Harris (AC242). I was advised, Animal Control responded to Target with Brunswick Police Department when they located a small brown and black dog. When Animal Control located the dog, it had visible open wounds on the back of the dog as well as the side of the dog.

Animal Control advised, she spoke with the owner’s daughter [REDACTED] who advised her mother, Martha Scott owns the dog and resides at [100 BLOCK] Kala Court. Animal Control was told the open wounds are from the dog getting eaten by Rats. Animal Control believes it is burn marks to the dog but is setting up a Cruelty exam this coming week to confirm what the wounds are from. I captured photos of the dog and have uploaded the photos to evidence.com.

On 07/12/26, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Kayla Court and made contact with Ms. Scott. I asked Ms. Scott if she owns any animals. She stated, she owns a miniature dachshund black and brown in color. Ms. Scott explained, the dog was at her house yesterday, 07/10/26. I confronted Ms. Scott and told her the dog was at Animal Control and not at her residence. Ms. Scott went on to explain, the dog was at the residence on 07/09/26. On that day her vehicle had broken down on Altama Ave. While the vehicle was broken down, Ms. Scott explained, Animal Control responded to the area and took her dog that was left in her broken down Jeep.

I asked Ms. Scott if the dog had any markings or wounds. Ms. Scott stated, the dog has an infection with a couple sores due to being allergic to fleas. I asked Ms. Scott if she had taken the dog to a vet clinic to be scene. Ms. Scott explained, she brought the dog to Cheek to Cheek and wait on the medication to be ordered and picked it up.

Ms. Scott mentioned as well the sores have only been ongoing for a couple days and has owned the dog for 5 years. At this time, no charges are being pursued unit the cruelty exam results come back.

I will be conducting a follow up at Check to Check to confirm whether or not Scott took the dog to the clinic.
