On 11 September, 2026 a concerned neighbor of [100 BLOCK] Postal Way reference to an abandoned dog, “Gumpy” described as a black Great Dane. It was further described that the owners had moved out and left the dog.
Upon arrival I made contact with the dog who appeared to be healthy running around in the street and the yard. I was able to make contact with a previous tenant, Nannette Garcia via phone [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Garcia stated Gumpy was her dog and that she keeps him locked in the residence of [100 BLOCK] Postal Way. Garcia stated she comes back every few days to check on him and provide food and water. The door does not have a lock or a door knob and is just a free swinging door.
The house is unsanitary with liquid on the he floor which smells of urine, parts of the roof is caving in, and the house is extremely cluttered. Upon gaining consent from Garcia to enter the residence to secure the door I immediately became covered in fleas jumping and crawling up my pants leg.
Animal Control AC 249 responded and took custody of Gumpy. Garcia was advised of the whereabouts of Gumpy. I will be issuing an arrest warrant for Garcia for Cruelty to Animals Misd for unsanitary living conditions.
