[NARRATIVE #1 on October 22, 2025]
On 10/22/2025 at approximately 0129 hours, I responded to [2000 BLOCK] Ellis St in reference to an Assault that occurred.
I made contact with [VICTIM #1], the victim/complainant, who advised that he got into an argument with Sammy Gillie, the offender, about going to Waycross. Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that Mr. Gillie got upset and stopped the car on Gloucester St. Mr. Gillie then pushed him out of the vehicle, telling him to get out. After some time, Mr. Gillie returned, picked up Mr. [VICTIM #1], and dropped him off at [2000 BLOCK] Ellis St.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that he got into another argument with Mr. Gillie. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was walking away from the opposite side of the road, where Mr. Gillie was parked behind another vehicle, when Mr. Gillie turned his black Honda Accord towards Mr. [VICTIM #1] and accelerated, driving off the road, hitting a mailbox at [2000 BLOCK] Ellis St, and striking Mr. [VICTIM #1]. Mr. [VICTIM #1] landed on top of the vehicle’s hood and was dragged a few feet before falling off the side of the vehicle.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. Gillie drove off heading towards Waycross after the incident. Mr. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. Gillie were dating at the time, and Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that this was not the first time Mr. Gillie had done this.
I observed multiple lacerations on Mr. [VICTIM #1] chest and left arm. There was also damage to the mailbox at [2000 BLOCK] Ellis St and fresh tire patterns on and off the roadway. EMS checked Mr. [VICTIM #1] for injuries, and he was transported to the Glynn County Detention Center for further evaluation. Mr. Gillie had already left the scene before my arrival, so a statement could not be obtained.
I attempted to contact residents at [2000 BLOCK] Ellis St regarding their mailbox, but was unsuccessful. All body camera footage was uploaded to, and I provided Mr. Gillie with a case number. Warrants will be pending for Mr. Gillie.

[NARRATIVE #2 on October 22, 2025]
On the above date and time, I, Pfc M. Saint Louis, while on duty with The Brunswick Police Department responded to [2000 BLOCK] Ellist Street in reference to an Assault.
I made contact with witness [WITNESS #1], who is the sister of the victim. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that the victim and offender were at her house arguing because the victim did not want to go to Waycross, GA, while the offender did. The argument traveled from inside the home to the offender’s vehicle, which was parked outside in front of her car.
Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that she walk outside to calm the victim and offender. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she was able to hear the conversation. The offender demanded that the victim take all of the clothes that were purchased by him off. Ms. [WITNESS #1] noted that while taking off his clothes and hat, the victim threw his hat at the offender and stepped out of the vehicle.
While the offender was out of the car, the suspect grabbed the suspect’s black cellphone and threw it toward the bushes. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated the victim walked over to get his phone from the ground, and while picking up his cellphone, she witnessed the offender put his vehicle in reverse and in drive mode, flooring it towards the victim and hitting the victim.
Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she saw the victim on the hood of the car while the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, causing him to fall. Ms. [WITNESS #1] also mentioned that the offender hit the neighbor across the street’s mailbox because his car struck it.
