On the above date I responded to what came out as a stabbing. EMS was dispatched and arrived on scene before GCPD arrived. EMS called for officers to get to the scene. I arrived and EMS said the female inside was not cooperating and EMS told me that the female, Shelby Morgan was refusing treatment. I went inside to talk to the female.
When I went into the shed, Morgan was rolling around on a couch straight across the room from the door. The room was very cluttered and I had to step over clothes and boxes to get to where she was at on the couch. When I got close to her I asked her to let me see her wound on her back. She had a large deep gash that was horseshoe shaped on her back. I told Morgan that she really should go with EMS due to the fact that she would definitely need stitches. She refused. At one point Morgan was saying that the EMS people were out to get her.
I then spoke with the resident who own the property. [WITNESS #1] said that Shelby is not even supposed to be on the property and he said that she always causes problems. I asked where [REDACTED] had gone to and [WITNESS #1] said he left just a few minutes ago. [WITNESS #1] went on to tell me all the problems they had with Shelby and how she calls the cops often.
I went back in to talk to Shelby and have her leave the property because she told me she does not live there. When I told her she would need to leave she then told me she owns the shed. I told her she would have to get with the sheriffs office to get her things. I told her that [WITNESS #1] wanted her off the property. Shelby then called 911. dispatched confimed that she was on 911 with them. Shelby said she wanted a different “squad car”, I told her to hang the phone up and she would not. I then let Ofc Navarez know what was going on and it was at that point I placed Shelby under arrest for misuse of 911. Shelby was not cooperative and it was at that point she said she wanted to go with EMS.
I needed to get jail clearance so I transported Shelby to the ER where she received stitches for her would. While we were in the ER she told the staff there that I had attacked her and I had caused the wound. At a different point she told the ER staff that she had fallen and that was what caused the wound. At one point on the scene Shelby said [REDACTED] had stabbed her with a knife. At another point Shelby said that [WITNESS #1] had beat her up.
Due to Shelby’s story changing constantly it is uncertain how she got the wound on her back. [REDACTED] was not around. [WITNESS #1] said he did not hear anything coming from the shed. Shelby had originally stated that her and [REDACTED] got into a fight over a vape and he had done it to her. Due to a changing story it is uncertain. [WITNESS #1] did tell me that Shelby has hurt herself in the past to try to get [REDACTED] arrested. It was because of this that [WITNESS #1] said he did not want her on the property.
Once Shelby was medically cleared at the hospital I transported her to the jail where she was turned over to jail staff and charged with OCGA 16-11-39.2 Misuse of 911. Shelby also had 2 warrants through the sheriff’s office for failure to appear which I served on her.
I will be obtaining a warrant for the Misuse of 911.
