On the above date at approximately 3: 51 p.m. I responded to the area of Frederica Rd and Demere Rd roundabout in reference to a Hit and Run accident. While in route the complainant and witness, [WITNESS #1], advised that an older female in a Kia Optima was hit by a dark grey Ford pickup truck in the turning lane like you’re going to either the airport or the Sea Island clubhouse. The truck was last observed driving south on Frederica Rd.
Upon arrival, Officer Bohannon had taken down [WITNESS #1]’s information and his statement due to him having to leave for work. Prior to leaving, he advised the victim was very shaken up. I immediately got out and checked on the victim, [VICTIM #1], who was stopped in the turning lane just east of the collision site.
[VICTIM #1] advised that she was coming from Frederica Rd near Redfern village and was going to continue through the roundabout to Demere Rd and Old Demere Rd. When she entered the roundabout and was passing the first exit, she stated a black truck pulled out beside her and collided with her passenger side doors.
[VICTIM #1] stated that the whole thing happened so fast that she had no time to brake or avoid the collision. [VICTIM #1] stated that her side curtains deployed and glass went everywhere inside of her car, making it so she could not get a good look at the truck. She did believe that the make was a Ford, Dark Grey or black in color.
I immediately began to gather her information and provided her with the case number. [VICTIM #1] had contacted her neighbors to come help her get home. Due to the vehicle only having functional damage to the doors and windows, [VICTIM #1] opted to drive her vehicle home, which was two blocks over.
After clearing the scene, I attempted to BOLO the area for a dark colored F-150 with obvious driver side damage. I was unable to find any truck matching the description provided. Several hours later after taking other calls for service I logged into Flock and entered the descriptors provided by the victim and witness.
Due to the collision occurring at 3:50 p.m. I focused on two cameras, one located at Demere Rd at Murray Ln and the other, Demere Rd at Old Demere. One Ford F-150 Lightning (Grey in Color) was observed on Demere at Murray Ln at 3:47 p.m. With the speed limit for this stretch of road being 35 mph, this would place the truck in the roundabout at the time of collision. It was additionally seen at Demere Rd and Old Demere Rd at approximately 3:51 p.m.
Seeing that this was possibly the offending vehicle, I recorded the license plate and opened a follow-up to speak with Mr. [WITNESS #1] at Crabdaddy’s restaurant. When I arrived, I had inquired about the descriptors of the offending vehicle again and provided him with a photo of the truck. After looking at the photo, [WITNESS #1] stated that the only similarity was that the truck was the same color and appeared to have a toolbox.
I asked again if he was sure the vehicle continued down Frederica Rd or if it doubled back, possibly towards Demere Rd East. [WITNESS #1] stated that he watched the truck drive all the way down Frederica until he could not see it anymore, immediately eliminating this lead all together. I thanked [WITNESS #1] for his time and ended the follow-up. Due to this truck not being involved, it will not be entered into the Vehicle tab.
While flock had several hits on dark colored Ford in the timeframe provided, these were all black in color and F-250 super cab’s. Two other possible vehicles from the flock search were located by myself in the pier village area after follow-up. Both had no indications of damage or collision.
Currently at this time, I have no further leads on Flock with the provided details. In reference to this Hit and Run incident, the unknown offender is responsible for the following offenses: Leaving the Scene of an Accident (OCGA 40-6-270), Failure to Report an Accident (OCGA 40-6-274) and Failure to yield; Right of Way (OCGA 40-6-72(c)). The only information I have available at this time is a Dark Grey F-150, newer model, that will have some form of driver side damage.
On 12/27/2025 around 6:40 a.m. I opened a follow-up at the roundabout and began to look for security camera’s in the area. The only camera located that faces the roundabout is located at Southern Soul SEQ. I spoke to a manager, [REDACTED], who advised that the owner Ms. [REDACTED] will be in around 9 a.m. and will be able to help me access security camera footage. I provided [REDACTED] with a case card and stated that I will attempt to come by in the morning, call volume permitting.
Once this is completed, I will complete a supplement narrative with my findings.
