On 22 August 2026 I responded to 100 Mallery Street; St. Simons Fishing Pier in reference to a report of a hit and run accident. The e911 dispatch center noted that the reported incident was called in at 10:52 AM.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1] who advised that he and his father, [WITNESS #1], were sitting in their parked car preparing to leave the pier when a silver Ford F-150 pulled into the parking spot to their left. Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised me that the silver F-150 made contact with the rear left side bumper of his vehicle. Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that the male seemed to be acting intoxicated and advised he was wondering why he couldn’t park in the parking space.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that the male then left the parking space in his vehicle without exchanging insurance information with him. Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that he observed a partial plate on the vehicle of “[REDACTED]” out of Georgia with Veteran plates. Mr. [WITNESS #1] also advised that he saw the partial plate of “[REDACTED]” out of Georgia. Both Mr. [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] advised that they saw the male’s face and stated that he was wearing a dark colored tank top with dark colored shorts on.
I observed damage to the left rear wheel well of Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle, a white Ford F-350 Superduty. On the vehicle, I observed gray/silver colored streaks and dents on the wheel well. I provided Mr. [VICTIM #1] with a case number and advised him that I would be following up on the incident based on the information he provided to me.
Using Flock Safety cameras, I noted my case number and reason for the search which for the purpose of locating a hit and run suspect. I searched for a Ford vehicle with the partial license plate of “[REDACTED]” of out of Georgia. I saw three snapshots of a silver colored Ford F-150 matching the partial plate which also had Veteran plates on it. The license plate was [REDACTED] out of Georgia with Retired Veteran plates.
The three snapshots were as follows:
08/22/2026 10:34 AM travelling southbound on Frederica Road at Market Street
08/22/2026 10:46 AM travelling southbound on Mallery Street at Lord Avenue
08/22/2026 11:02 AM travelling northbound on Frederica Road at Sea Island Road
Given that the vehicle was seen travelling towards the area of the hit and run shortly before it was reported to law enforcement and that it is seen travelling away from the area shortly after the incident was reported, I believed that this was the involved vehicle. I made contact with Mr. [VICTIM #1] and asked to meet with him again. Using the registered owner, Vincent Lee Daniels, of the F-150’s Driver’s License photo, I showed Mr. [VICTIM #1] the driver’s license photo. Both Mr. [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] advised that was the male that was driving the silver Ford F-150 involved in the accident. After two positive identifications of the male, I determined to go to the registered owners address to make contact [100 BLOCK] Montrose, Saint Simons Island, Georgia 31522.
Upon arrival to the residence, I observed the suspected Ford F-150 and inspected the exterior of it. I located damage to the right rear wheel well which had white scratches consistent with the victim’s white truck. I made contact at the front door with a woman who identified herself as Mr. Daniels fiancé. I did not gather her contact details at that time. Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s fiancé advised that she believed that he had gone around the corner to fish in the creek. She pointed us in the direction that she believed it was however she was unsure of its exact location. Officer Hall and I attempted to locate the creek but were unsuccessful.
I returned to the residence and advised the fiancé of the situation and asked if she could call Mr. Daniels. She appeared to attempt to call him multiple times without an answer. I advised the fiancé that given the information I had gathered so far, I would be requesting an arrest warrant on Mr. Daniels. I advised her that he should make arrangements to turn himself in to either the Glynn County Police Department or the Sheriff’s Office at another date.
Given the corresponding color damage seen on both vehicles, the two testimonies of the occupants of the victim vehicle, and photographs showing the suspect vehicle going to and leaving the area around the times of the reported hit and run, I found that there is probable cause to arrest Mr. Daniels under O.C.G.A 40-6-270 Hit and Run; duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident. An arrest warrant will be submitted following this report.
