On Sunday January 8, 2022 at approximately 0108 Deputy G.B PHILLIPS and Deputy C.R MARTIN with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Buck Blvd Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia for a possible domestic dispute in progress.

Upon arrival Deputy PHILLIPS tried to make contact through the front door, but nobody would answer. Deputy PHILLIPS then observed a red pickup truck pulling into the driveway operated by [REDACTED] who was the complainant. [REDACTED] said her daughter, [VICTIM #1] ran to her house from [100 BLOCK] Buck Blvd to [REDACTED]’s house at [100 BLOCK] Doe Lane because she was trying to get away from BRIAN HIGGINBOTHAM.

[VICTIM #1] was in the passenger seat of the pickup and got out to retrieve her kids from the house. [VICTIM #1] said she ran to her mother’s house, so she could get away from BRAIN. [VICTIM #1] opened the door to the residence and put her kids in the truck to take back to [REDACTED]’s house.

[VICTIM #1] said that she has a no contact order with BRIAN. [VICTIM #1] said that her and her kids were all asleep when they heard someone trying to get into the front door. [VICTIM #1] said she walked to the front door and noticed BRIAN had broken into the home. [VICTIM #1] said that’s when she then ran to her mother, [REDACTED]’s residence. [VICTIM #1] said she did not know where BRIAN was. Deputies asked if we could enter to make contact with BRIAN. [VICTIM #1] said yes.

Deputies then entered the residence to locate and make contact with BRIAN but, Deputies were unsuccessful. While Deputies were in the residence, Gordon County 911 advised a complainant called in saying it sounded like someone was trying to break into their home two houses down at [200 BLOCK] Buck Blvd. Deputies thought it could have been BRIAN, so Deputies then checked the area, but were unsuccessful. [REDACTED] then took [VICTIM #1] and the kids to her residence to be safe.

Deputies then checked the area of the sub division of the residence to locate BRIAN. Gordon County Jail advised there is a no contact order for BRIAN and [VICTIM #1]. Deputies then returned back to [100 BLOCK] Buck Blvd. Deputies noticed the front door cracked open.

Deputies then checked the back of the residence and noticed BRIAN standing on the back porch with the back door open. Deputy PHILLIPS commanded BRIAN to come here twice. BRIAN did not listen to the commands and went back inside the residence and closed the door. Deputies then noticed the lights in the house had turned off and the front door closed.

Deputy PHILLIPS then conferences with [VICTIM #1] who said BRIAN told her that if Deputies entered the residence we would have to kill him. Deputies the left the residence and advised [VICTIM #1] and her kids to stay at [REDACTED]’s house to be safe. Deputy PHILLIPS took warrants out for BRIAN such as Aggravated Staking Family Violence and Obstruction of officer.
